Welcome to the second session of Lemondrop's Celeb Memoir Book Club, in which we discuss "Got Fight?" by Forrest Griffin, former UFC light-heavyweight champion and winner of the first-ever season of "The Ultimate Fighter."As always, you don't have to have read the book to chime in on our questions -- and everyone who leaves a comment is eligible to win one of 20 copies of "Got Fight?", courtesy of HarperCollins; or an autographed book and photo from Zinkin.*
1. Title fight
Forrest kicks off his book with a list of titles he liked better than "Got Fight?" including "Who Moved My Nose?" "Punch Drunk" and "Death Is a Journey and My Bags Are Packed -- The Forrest Griffin Story." Explain which title you like best, or suggest your own.
2. Are you man enough?
Take Forrest's manliness quiz -- either in the book, in the excerpt here or through his iPhone app -- and then share your score. What have you learned about your own manliness? In what ways can you try to change to become more manly?
Be sure to leave a comment and then hit 'next' for more questions.
*Contest rules/fine print/whatnot: Open to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia and Canada (excluding Quebec) who are 18 and older. To enter, leave a comment on any of the Forrest Griffin Book Club posts before noon Eastern on November 1, 2009. I love me some Forrest. I read the book (okay parts of it, get off of me I'm a busy woman) and it's as hilarious as you'd expect it to be given he's such a character. If you haven't read it I highly encourage everyone to do so. It's a great stocking stuffer for your guy!

My biggest question is who picked the front cover photo........did he just get out of the shower and forget conditioner?

Ronald you don't need conditioner when you're made of determination and dreams.

Mmmm...poignant, coco. Ronald, the title is "Got Fight?" and he's all beat up looking, so I'm guessing that's what they were going for here.

Everything about forrest is entertaining from the way he fights to most of his comments. I'm not exactly sure however what girls find so attractive about him........ it must be his personality? Any insight MMAhotstuff........

it's ALL about personality for me when it comes to Forrest. I mean he's somewhat easy on the eyes as well. He's a likable guy in my opinion. Oh and he's also one half of the best fight in UFC history. That's HAWT.

Love Forrest. Maybe not the most talented fighter--but always does his best. I cheer for him because of his determination and work ethic--can't wait to read the book!

Yay! I've been waiting for this one since Laura first told me it was going to be a book club selection. Book is hilarious, in typical Forrest Griffin fashion. He really does have a very sharp wit, and I love the title , "Who Moved My Nose?" I didn't take the quiz, but I don't think it really works for a woman, cause, unlike men, we're allowed, even encouraged to, spend exorbitant amounts of money on jeans.

Hey kids! Forgot to add this to my previous comment. I hate to plug our site (not really), but we have something all you Forrest Griffin fans might like. It's a weekly feature Beth came up with called, What Would Forrest Do? The link is below if you're interested.

Excellent points, everyone. As for my thoughts on these important matters...
1. There is no better title than "Who Moved My Nose?"
2. I think I'm pretty manly; I enjoy beer and repressing my feelings. I did cry at work today, but only because Julieanne posted a query on Yahoo Questions and the answers were so ridiculous that I laughed until tears actually came out of my face.

What is this book about, exactly? Is it an autobiography of Forrest Griffin's life? Is it like, fight tips and tricks that he's picked up? Or is it just random stuff (like the manliness quiz)? I guess in any case, it looks to be an interesting read.

It's all of the above. Low on narrative threads, high on entertainment value. Click on the excerpt and you'll get a feel for the mix: Tongue-in-cheek life tips, actual fight tips, anecdotes from his professional rise, bizarre lists. A really fast, fun read.

I've been such a huge fan of Forrest. There aren't many book stores left where I live and the 2 bigger ones they have seem to always be "out of stock" on his book. Needless to say, I have not read it, yet. I'm one of the biggest (female) mma fan out of my huge circle of guy friends. I love reading, writing, tweeting, commenting about anything mma. Forrest has such a huge fan base, cause he seems like such a down to earth person. No matter what his flaws are (I'm sure) none of his fans care. As long as he puts on the kind of fight his fans want to see, he's still a great guy.

It's refreshing to see the support provided by the female fans here.
If it takes a book from Forrest to make people realize that MMA fighters are normal people and not thug barbarians as most media trys to portray them, that's great. If you have that friend or co-worker who still thinks otherwise, then buy this book for them and at the very least they'll become a Forrest fan!

Forrest is the man. He tells you what he's thinking straight up. If you dont like it, he'll tell you to fuck off. And if you don't, he'll most likely kill you. He could lose every fight for the next five years and I would still watch him just because he's so god damn entertaining.
