Last night, watching an incredibly unfunny episode of "Glee," it was hard not to notice Amy Sedaris in a commercial for the new Sony Reader. After all, she's only, like, the funniest person ever.Amy Sedaris, in case you don't remember, is the totally hilarious woman responsible for "Strangers With Candy," or, if you're not into amazingly great comedy, you might recognize her as Carrie Bradshaw's agent in "Sex and the City." Lately, however, she's been doing more things like the Sony commercial: she seems to pop up in the most unexpected places, from Microsoft Office commercials to the latest Diablo Cody movie.
Keep reading to see Amy Sedaris doing things you never imagined.
She shows up for about a hot second in a "Mad Men" spoof called "Meshugene Men."
Puzzlingly, she is also the voice of hair-butchers extraordinaire Supercuts.
But perhaps the strangest place of all we've seen her is in a Dolly Parton music video as both a carnival barker and a festive-looking dwarf. What the what?
And of course, there's the Sony advertisement that started this whole hullaballo, featuring Amy, Justin Timberlake, the world speed-reading champion and Peyton "I'll endorse anything for a buck" Manning.
Word around the campfire is that Amy's got a new book coming out soon to follow up 2006's "I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence," and it's all about handicrafts(!). As awesome as that sounds, it would be nice to have her trying to make us pee our pants a little again. Oh well, we'll take what we can get, even if that only means a ray of sunshine in a practically Jane Lynch-less hour of musical television.
