After gaining and losing about 30 lbs. for each of the first two "Bridget Jones's Diary" movies, star Renee Zellweger is considering donning a fat suit for the third installment.

While we can think of nothing more fun than being forced to eat pulled pork and donuts for a few months, there are health risks involved with gaining and losing weight so quickly. And like her sisters of the screen -- who have donned fat suits before her -- know all too well, having a few extra pounds does not an A-list actress make, even if many fans prefer a zaftig Zellweger.

Should she decide to go that route, hopefully she'll be a little more sensitive than these women when discussing her fat suit.

5. We guess it would be unfair of us to call Tyra Banks' comments about her fat suit offensive, but we had to round out our list (no pun intended). And Tyra really was just trying to make the world a better place (isn't she always?) by exposing the prejudices that overweight people experience when she packed on the fake pounds for a 2005 episode of "The Tyra Show":

"The people that were staring and laughing in my face -- that shocked me the most," Banks said. "As soon as I entered the store -- when I went shopping -- I immediately heard snickers. Immediately! I just was appalled and ... and ... and hurt!" [ABC]

4. Julia Roberts wore a fat suit for "America's Sweethearts" and while we're sure it really was "startling" to see herself as a larger lady, we almost get the sense from this quote that she sees being fat as comical. And maybe the bigger the better, or at least funnier?

"We actually had (the fat suit) bigger to start with, which I kind of liked," says Roberts. "It still wasn't Eddie Murphy [in "The Nutty Professor"] kind of big ... It's a really tedious process. I had the fat suit on, and then I had to wear a bra over that. It gets heavy after a while. It's hard to find a good support bra when you're that big." [USA Today]

3. For her role as Little Edie in HBO's "Grey Gardens," Drew Barrymore had to wear what she called "cheese" on her arms when portraying Edie Beale's later years:

"When I got that cheese taken off my arms each night I was like, oh, thank god!! So good to know where it's headed! So I appreciate this time. I started weight training and roller jogging for 'Whip It' and then I got really in shape and I was like, oh, I better keep this up -- it makes me feel good." [LA Times]

2. Courteney Cox donned a fat suit for more than one episode of "Friends," and apparently it's hot being fat (not to be confused with HOTT):

"It took me about three hours get me into 'Fat Monica' makeup. But when I become her, I become the most uninhibited person in the world. I'd do this dance in front of the audience called 'the popcorn.' Made me feel like I wouldn't ever want to be fat,'' she said. "It's hot to be fat. And I don't mean hard. I mean hot.'' [Teen Hollywood]

1. Gwyneth Paltrow suited up for her role in 2001's "Shallow Hal." One of the first things she learned? Apparently fat women aren't sexy.

"It was very strange the first time I put it on. I laughed and I cried. It was very intense. I went into public with it on, down in the lobby of the hotel where I tried it on, and people wouldn't even look at me, wouldn't make eye contact with me at all. I felt no sexual energy from men [on the set]. Normally, in the film, I have all these tiny little clothes on, but when I come to the set with the suit on and feel none of that, it is palpable." [IGN]

Gwyneth probably should have taken Tyra's place with this extra quote. Because, you know, fat-people clothes are ugly:

"I was wearing this black shirt with big snowmen on it. For some reason, the fat clothes they make ... " Here the 28-year-old Oscar winner stops to correct herself. "The clothes they make for women that are overweight are horrible. I felt humiliated because people were really dismissive." [ABC]
