How did we miss this '80s After School Special? It was called "Ace Hits the Big Time," and its accompanying music video is so bad it's good. F'real. Denim-studded vests. Striped suspenders. Finger-snapping à la the "West Side Story" Jets. Need we say more?
Indeed we do (to fill the rest of this post). So we will leave you with this bet, friends: If you're not humming, "It's a celebration ... It's a CELEBRAAATION!" for the good part of your day, we will personally mousse the hell out of our hair and spazz it out like the brunette in the video. OK, not really. Just watch the video.

I know it's sad that I noticed this, but isn't the snazzy dancer guy in striped shirt & suspenders Wallace Langham from CSI & Veronicas Closet? I'm sure he would be thrilled that someone pointed that out.

Good catch brookers! I never would have noticed it: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0327397/ says that his name is "Babe." :)

My favorite After School Special was "Have You Talked To Patty Lately" about a dorky deaf girl named Patty who makes friends with the punk rock crowd at school and gets popular as she goes punk rock. Her mom is very protective and doesn't like it but Patty fights her freedom as she dates the cute boy.

It's the kid from Mr. Belvedere! Way to go, Ace!
