Two couples in Toledo, Ohio, got the shock of their lives after doctors mistakenly implanted one of the women with the other couple's baby.Carolyn and Sean Savage are already the biological parents of three children, but decided to try for one more with the leftover frozen embryos at the fertility clinic where the other, anonymous couple was being treated. After Carolyn became pregnant, the clinic told her that there had been a mix-up with the embryos, an admission she describes as "the worst news of our life."
The Savages have agreed to give up the child to the anonymous couple when it is born, although the biological parents have agreed to let the Savages have a moment with the child before it leaves their lives. The Savages have been told that this will have to be Carolyn's last baby, so they have contracted a surrogate to have their next child.
The Savages have hired attorneys who are working to make sure the clinic responsible for the switcheroo accepts the responsibility for the mix-up, and we can't say we blame them. This is definitely one of our nightmares, except in ours the "anonymous" couple are Paul Reiser and Rue McClanahan.

This is a difficult situation and the article does not share all the details of the case so I will base what I say by ONLY what is stated in the article above.
Carolyn Savage was informed "that this will be her last child so they have contracted with a surrogate to have their next child." The article and news reports I've heard and read mention next to nothing on the biological couple of the baby Carolyn is carrying. What would be nice, barring "known" problems, if any, for the biological mother, (and may even be in the works of what we do not know), is that the biological mother be the surrogate for the Savages' next baby since they are willing to give up the child upon birth. Of course there is no word if they are taking this action without argument or for financial reasons. I'm sure it is extremely difficult to give up a child at birth which you carried & cared for. All the article states the Savages are receiving once the baby is born, is a moment to say good-bye to the baby Carolyn "mothered" for 9 months.
I pray what is best for the baby and future [Savage] baby works out for all involved. I also pray the Savages do not have to pay for their extra expenses they will now incur by contracting a surrogate for their next child. The clinic should pay all surrogate expenses above and beyond what the Savages may receive for pain and suffering from the error made at the clinic. They should also be paying for her current expenses for the baby about to be born if the biological couple is not already doing so.
I feel for the baby as he/she grows up and learns of what transpired about it's birth. I include this same prayer for the [not yet conceived] baby they long for as it learn's the circumstances of it's conception and birth. It is a difficult situation for all involved. May God Bless each of these couples and their children and may He work out all the details for them to have the family they long for.
