Usually, WEtv's documentary show "Secret Lives of Women" covers stuff that you'd actually want to keep hidden, like sex addiction or being the mother of a murderer. Which is why the upcoming episode on groupies is so shocking, because these women do things like admit that they've slept with Michael Richards without breaking into tears of asking that the camera be turned off.This installation follows four out-and-proud star-sexers, including Pamela Des Barres, the inspiration for Kate Hudson's character "Almost Famous" and aforementioned Kramer-lover. Being a groupie is "a love for music to the point of sexual excitement," explains modern-day groupie Lex Vonn. Uh, OK! There are only a few grupies who come forward. Each state, each town has it's girls. I was traveling on tour buses and traveling with the biggest bands of the 70s and 80s. Starting at age 14, Lori Lightening , Sable Star , myself and a few others stayed with Led Zepplin and all the huge bands of that era. I traveled with the New York Dolls and stayed in Johnny Thunders room all the time, me and Tina Tits. aka Tina Hedgren. Groaning when Johnny would bring a girl back to the room for sex. I would move to the florr , Johnny would do the deed , throw the girl out and I'd crawl back in bed with him and we'd laugh and cuddle . a great friendship. I had dozens of these relationships. The difference between me and the other groupies was that I was a friend to the guys. I didn't have sex with many of them. I got to know them and they respected me for it. I traveled with Kansa and Deep Purple and many others. Because I didn't behave like the other girls, I was allowed on the side of the stage that the others weren't allowed on. I kept them company, and kept my self respect. I'm glad I did it the way I did, because there were dozens of times that the guys would have sex with these " Groupies" and then have them thrown out of the room. Once a guy in Whitesnake rode up the elevator with a girl I knew, Your Typical Groupie. He asked her if she wanted to ( suk his..you know) yea, she said in her sultry voice. After she did the deed, this guy got uo , picked up her purse with out saying a word , and threw it in the hallway of the Bel Age Hotel. When she yelled, Heu and ran after it, he slamed the door behind her. The boys don't love these Groupies, they don't respect them and they make fun of them. And they are willing to mock them right in front of them. Since these girls want to hang around the band so bad, or maybe they are just beyond stupid, they would giggle and stay a long as the could. I could write a better book than all of them put together, with the exception of Cynthia and the Plaster Casters...Real Groupies, and excellent and making cast's of a certain part of their anatomy. Jimi Hendris, Jim Morrison, all the old greats. These girls are worth your research.
In the 1980's I married one of the two or three top guitarist in the biggest band of that era. I left the would of bands, had a few kids, and divorced that bastard. I am unknown to the public, well known to a lot of great bands, and people always tell me that I "have"to write a book. Maybe one day. Cause I would name names, since I was innocent. These boys, thoiugh very attractive in so many ways and rotten to the core. Not all , but most.
