New York's Fall Fashion Week is a make-or-break time for dozens of designers. But do the runway-ready looks translate to the real world? We asked a couple of our dude friends over at Asylum to tell us what they really thought about some of our favorite new collections. Asylum Managing Editor Gordon Hurd (the handsome, soft-spoken one) and Associate Editor Brian Childs (the adorable, blonde Southern one) got judge-y on some of fashion's biggest names. Would they want their girlfriends to wear these fancy-schmancy frocks?

Click for their thoughts and then let us know what you think of these looks in the comments.

Guys Weigh in on Fashion Week

    Designer: Tony Maticevski
    The Look:
    Modern fairy princess
Brian: This is okay, I guess. Although the desire to step on the train while she's walking by would be enormous.
Gordon: This outfit is far from appropriate for a petting zoo. Deal breaker.

    Designer: Vivienne Tam
    The Look:
    bright digital prints
Brian:This outfit could double as camo in the rain forest.
Gordon: I kind of like this look. This dress, a giant spliff, and a Cheech and Chong movie. Dream date.

    Designer: Willow
    The Look:
    Patterned metallics and ruffles
Brian: Looks like it's made of steel wool.
Gordon: Fashion inspired by the alien casings from "Cocoon." Works for me.

    Designer: Yigal Azrouel
    The Look:
    Bohemian chic
Brian: I have no desire to date a girl dressed like Aladdin.
Gordon: Personally, this ensemble reminds me of my 7th grade lesbian art teacher. Again, this totally works.

    Designer: Zero by Maria Cornejo
    The Look:
    Masculine geometry
Brian: I'm definitely getting a 12-year-old boy vibe from this picture. I am not attracted to 12-year-old boys.
Gordon: I'm afraid of any woman who'd dress like she's about to commit hari-kari.

    The Look:
    Space-age cut outs
Brian: Now this is an outfit I really like. It reminds me of how they dressed in "2001 A Space Odyssey."
Gordon: Shorts and the shoulder slits? That would never work, it's way too cold in those space stations. Take a class.

    Designer: Andy and Debb
    The Look:
    Shiny metallics
Brian: This outfit reminds me of a shiny minnow I use as bait when I go fishing.
Gordon: A shiny Glad bag is not very alluring.

    Designer: Donna Karan
    The Look:
    Retro suit
Brian: In all seriousness, I kind of like this one. It reminds me of what a lady-reporter would wear in the 1920s.
Gordon: I don't know ... if I was hanging out with Lois Lane I might start feeling too much like Jimmy Olsen.

    Designer: Erin Wasson for RVCA
    The Look:
    Grunge chic
Brian: You could probably wear those shorts to a Florida Gator's game.
Gordon: Nothing spells "easy" like an outfit from "True Blood."

    Designer: Jewel by Lisa
    The Look:
    Patterned bodysuit
Brian: Mick Jagger meets Austin Powers. This outfit is a boner-slayer.
Gordon: Longjohns from outerspace. Does it have a flap in the back?
