Last week, A&E acquired Lifetime. In this time of transition for the two networks, we here at Lemondrop would like to offer some suggestions for crossover programming that can appeal to both A&E's "crime, drugs and mental illness" demographic and Lifetime's "lady problems and oh-yeah-we-now-have-'Project Runway'" audience.
Lifetime Movie of the Week: "Intervention," starring Markie Post and Melissa Joan Hart Our obsession with "Intervention" is well documented on this site. We're as hooked as Fred Armisen. Marginally fictionalize those "so bizarre they have to be true" stories, add two Lifetime movie divas and you've got cable-TV magic! We just don't know who should be the addict: Melissa Joan Hart (as a 20-something meth head, maybe?) or Markie Post (alcoholic new grandmother?).
"How to Look Good Naked and Dead": "The First 48"/Carson Kressley crossoverYou've heard the cliché "I wouldn't be caught dead in that outfit." This crossover takes it to the extreme. As the homicide detectives rush to find out who killed the victim, former Queer Eye fashion guru makes sure the victim is as fashionable as possible.

"Obsessed Army Wives" Take some women living on a military base in South Carolina, add some form of obsessive-compulsive disorder and you have this gem. Will Claudia become fixated on her teeth? Will a new Army wife named Christa ruin the dinner party when she refuses to eat anything for fear of contamination? Tune in and find out.
"Project Runaway" The challenge is simple: Design an outfit for the bail-jumper on the go. Special guest judges: Dog and Beth. Bonus points if the models walk down the runway with mullets provided by the Garnier Hair Studio.
"Drop Dead Diva/Criminal Minds" The FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit heads to California to get in the head of a plus-size lawyer who thinks she's a dead supermodel. Jason Gideon's team is disappointed to learn that the "Drop Dead Diva" title does not involve any serial murder.
"Keyshawn Johnson: Tackling Design" They didn't need our help on this one. A&E came up with it on their own.
