This is Howard, a tuxedoed gentleman rescued when he was 10 weeks old by two Michigan brothers, Kyle, 10, and Bryce, 8. Discovered on the side of the road by the boys, Howard was missing his two front paws. The boys took him to the vet, Howard purring the entire way there. (And to think about how we whine when we get a paper cut.)

Vets suspect that Howard's injuries were sustained in farm machinery, thus the nickname "combine kitty." (A combine is a "big dangerous thingy" used to harvest crops.) It'll cost upward of a thousand dollars for Howard's treatment and rehabilitation, but donations have already been pouring in for this brave feline. So far, he's doing great, bandages and all.
