I saw a show on Discovery Health, where the girl lost her legs and does a lot of auto mechanic work, she got married, had a child despite the worries of the doctor.
But now she is older she realizes that her hands and shoulders were not meant to "walk', she is facing the wheelchair permanently.
It's hard not to do what you want to do because your parts/joints just wear out, faster than it does than in normal people.
She can do this for a time but I am hoping she can be realistic that its only for a few years. Alternative careers should be explored that isn't so hard on her body, People get so one-tracked then crash when they find out its not forever.

WOW! That was really awesome and you can see it all over your face. You are an incredible person to overcome your obsticles and to make your life----yours ! As my favorite saying says----Life is not about waiting for the storm to end----It's about learning to dance in the rain ! Girl, that's exactly what you have done. Take care and may only good come to you. Lori

That was beautiful Keira. If only more of us had the motivation to do that with the 4 limbs we have instead of complaining about what we don't have. You are truly an inspiration to many

I loved your graceful dancing. Is it the fact that you were so young when you had your amputations what makes your body simply your body, with a mind that knows that it is not lacking in anything? You are a gentle, talented woman with a gift of the ability to inspire others. My Dad was an amputee, and I would watch people look away in embarrassment. But I was so proud of who he was, I almost wanted to force people to deal with it, and then focus on who he really was. Much love to you. You rock! This made me so happy.

Well..that was a very interesting and inspirational video! I am a dancer that dances for Jesus and myself, to know that she can do what she does lets me know that I can do anything! Even though she has gon through all of this, I see that she is very joyful. I hope that she made it to where she wanted to be! She deserves all the praise she can get! Good luck girl!!

The first time you see Kiera Brinkley dance you cry, thinking of the dancer she surely would have been. But, suck it up brothers and sisters, behold the dancer she is in spite of everything. Is there anything more awe inspiring than someone overcoming all obstacles to perform at this level?

Very inspiring, but sad to say once Obama passes his facist national health care, dancing is the last thing she will be thinking about,
