You probably give better advice than most paid advice columnists, right? Our friend "Charlie" has a question and we think you can help. Leave a comment with your advice.Charlie's quandary:
"So I've been seeing this girl for almost four months now, and things are going really well. She's about to leave the country indefinitely. She could be gone for three months or a year; there's no telling. She's given me the green light to date other girls while she's gone. She even jokes about helping me pick the girl out before she leaves -- she's not the jealous type.
"Well, a prospect has come up and I feel like I need to strike while the iron is hot. Can I begin seeing this other girl before she's even left yet? It will be another month before my girl leaves. She's sort of hinted that she prefers I wait till she's gone, but ...
"Should I just wait? Should I tell her and risk losing something that's going so well? Would she understand or think I'm a jerk? Dating season is coming to a close just around the time she's leaving, and I don't want to get left in the cold."

okay, maybe it is just me but here is some advice from a girl. If she is telling you to date other girls, then maybe she is kind of hoping to slowly fade out of your life. I think she is looking forward to hooking up with other guys when she is away, if this is the case, you two should probably go your separate ways now. My now husband, then boyfriend of 7 months and I had to deal with a separation when I moved for a year, but we made it clear we were together and we were not seeing other people, but that if things got difficult and we felt we wanted to end it we would be honest and just break up rather than sleeping around. We saw each other quite frequently while living apart, then I moved back home and we are so happy we didn't break up. If she really loved you and didn't want to be with you she would ask you to stay with her and ride this out.
