Know anybody who's figured out her boyfriend's email password and spent all of her time spying on him out of a combination of fear and morbid curiosity? That could be you, if you use Facebook.

According to a new study, if you're in a relationship, using Facebook to check up on your significant other can actually make you more jealous than you'd be without it. Apparently, the glut of information you learn from the site that you may not be privy to in person (his ex-girlfriend loves the band that plays "your" song) can make you go all Glenn Close.

The researchers found that this jealousy resulted in a "need" to check Facebook even more, creating a cycle that presumably results in you dressed in a bathrobe, eating cake frosting out of a tub and clicking your refresh button incessantly.

Oh, modern times. This makes us long for simpler times, when the craziest way you could get info about his ex was to bike past her house 20 times.
