Know anybody who's figured out her boyfriend's email password and spent all of her time spying on him out of a combination of fear and morbid curiosity? That could be you, if you use Facebook.According to a new study, if you're in a relationship, using Facebook to check up on your significant other can actually make you more jealous than you'd be without it. Apparently, the glut of information you learn from the site that you may not be privy to in person (his ex-girlfriend loves the band that plays "your" song) can make you go all Glenn Close.
The researchers found that this jealousy resulted in a "need" to check Facebook even more, creating a cycle that presumably results in you dressed in a bathrobe, eating cake frosting out of a tub and clicking your refresh button incessantly.
Oh, modern times. This makes us long for simpler times, when the craziest way you could get info about his ex was to bike past her house 20 times.

I recently lost an old friend because of facebook, on purpose. She found me after a couple decades of no contact, and said hi, asking if it was really me. Then, she posted my name on someone elses facebook page (who I didnt even know) under a photo of a bottle of prescription drugs that were widely abused in the 80's and since discontinued due to this fact. I was floored to put it mildly. Facebook makes people crazy and I immediately canceled my account after that. It's just not worth it.

i can testify to facebook ruining relationships. i recently had a bad breakup with a guy i met through facebook. both of us became paranoid through looking at the other's profile and overthinking everything we saw.

Facebook sucks,I hate it.Myspace is much better,it is easier to navigate, and the site is much more appealing.

I never understood the need for people to have all these "friends" that they don't even know anyway. Also, if you were once close to somebody and then lose contact with them for decades, there is usually a good reason. I'm happy to email ,text, or call the friends I already have. I also enjoy meeting new people face to face. As for Facebook,Hell No!

i've had facebook from the first year it started--with only university students able to access it. i've dealt with all the changes they're put us thru, most of which turn out to make it easier to navigate with some regular usage.
as for ruining relationships--sorry, crazy people ruin relationships, not going on facebook and leaving posts to their significant others. my bf and i both have fb now and although we do most of our talking in person or via text fb lets me leave him funny bumper stickers or link up with our mutual friends for a party. whatever happened in our pasts can stay there, it had nothing to do with me and my past had nothing to do with him.

Ok, facebook was made as a networking site for college. now it's turned into some whack site that anyone can join. i did enjoy facebook but it turned out t as years passed. i honestly don't like any of these sites. most of the people who make it is because they want to be popular and be seen. onlya few people actually keep it for contacts only. no one is that important in my life where i need a site to connect. email is enough.
