5 Mistakes All Women Make
Mistake #1: Wearing the Wrong Size Bra
Pinching, poking and spine problems? Many women set themselves up for this misery before they've even gotten dressed -- turns, a majority of us don't wear a correctly fitted bra.
The result can be spillage (out the front and over the back straps) and even back pain. "Most women go from a training bra to saying they're a standard size -- 34B for example -- without ever having been properly fitted," says Tod Hallman, fashion stylist for Hollywood stars like Regina King and Julie Benz. If you've grown up uncomfortable in your undergarments, you don't even realize how good life could be if you slipped on the right size.
"If you don't have the right size, the fit of your clothing won't be as clean or as beautiful ... everything in fashion starts underneath." Solve this by going for a professional fitting at a lingerie store at least once.

Mistake #2: Cutting Back on Calories when PMS-ing
You're retaining water and feel like a whale thanks to hormones so your natural instincts are to starve yourself, which makes you even crankier! Wrong tactic. "Many women actually have slightly increased calorie needs when they are premenstrual and should add an extra healthy snack to their daily food intake to help satisfy their appetite and prevent late night binging," says Alyse Levine, RD. Notice we said "healthy" snack...that means a piece of string cheese and a peach, not a gallon of Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey.

Mistake #3: Forgetting Self Defense Moves
Do you know what you would do if you were attacked? Or if a date got rough with you? Most women THINK they know how they'd protect themselves (i.e. kicking or biting perhaps?) but when faced with a real-life adrenaline-laced situation all those thoughts can go out the window.
"A woman needs to remember to use her natural weapons; for example, a palm heel strike to the nose or chin of an attacker, a knee kick to the groin, an elbow to the ribs, or an elbow to the jaw," says Sensei Munah Holland, Senior Instructor at Tiger Schulmann's Mixed Martial Arts.
"You can also put those expensive high-heeled shoes to good use by stomping the top of your attacker's foot with them," she recommends. The most important thing, however, is to frequently remind yourself of these moves so that if you find yourself in a threatening situation you can react with confidence.

Mistake #4: Getting Upset about a Sexual Oops ... While Still in Bed
Probably no subject is trickier to discuss than sex, and most women still don't effectively communicate what they need in bed. Even stickier, however, is what to do when he can't um...perform.. Instead of crying, thinking it's you or saying "poor baby" (which will only further emasculate him at a vulnerable moment), Dr. Joel Block, PhD, a sex therapist in Long Island, NY, suggests flipping the focus. "At the time of the mishap, I suggest that the woman encourage her guy to put his attention on her -- touch, lick, whatever -- rather than thinking about his under-performance," says Dr. Block. "This way he can feel useful, and in all likelihood, if he's in the moment...the other thing will work itself out."

Mistake #5: Not Learning About Finance
When it comes to money matters, many women defer to their male counterparts for advice instead of learning all they can themselves. "Women need to stop believing that investing is too hard or too complicated," says Sandra Claflin-Chalton, PhD, professor of Economics at the University of Wisconsin--Stout.
"My experience has been that once women learn the basics they have excellent instincts and are much better at finance than most men." In fact, Claflin-Chalton says that if women save/invest just $10/day, they could be financially independent in 25 years. To start investing, check out sites like www.Sharebuilder.com, where you can invest even small amounts in stocks and mutual funds. Or consider creating a women's investment club.

Nobody likes to make a mistake. But unfortunately a majority of women routinely commit the following blunders. The good news? It's never to late to fix a boo-boo if you know how (or at least do better next time). Check out these common female errors and some sweet saves you can employ.

Ok, some of the advice toward women could come in handy, but not all.
1. i was one of the lucky women wearing the wrong bra size. It happens. I lost weight, and didn't think about changing my bra size, but I was wearing one too big, not too small. Most women I know, their bra is too big for them
2. it may be a big joke that women get b*tchy on their period, but hey, joke or not it's our right! so i will eat what i want, when i want, and if my mood is less that good housekeeping standards, too bad. if i have to deal with the pain, bloating, bleeding and all else that comes with the territory, i want something in return!
3. so women are the only ones who forget self defense moves eh? not men, who piss themselves, and start crying? (Yes, I have witnessed this). don't target women cuz we're "smaller and weaker" or some bs like that. and most women i know, know to kick the groin and run. or use the pepper spray.
4. no complaints about this one, it's actually good advice and makes good sense. something i didn't think about, but and glad to know.
and finally, 5. that would be a big F YOU. there is not a single woman i know who can't manage their finances. i do it, my mother does it, my sisters do it, my female friends do it. Hell, my grandmother did it until she couldn't anymore. now i'm not saying there isn't women out there who can't, and that is sad, but women have the same education men do, and economics (with finance control, thank you very much) is standard and required to graduate in most high school. Furthermore, most of the men i know rely on the women to do the finances (among other things). and men aren't the only ones with private (and yes, sometimes secret) bank accounts. women do it too. in fact, the best marriages i've seen are the couples with 1 joint account for bill money, then a seperate account for themselves (takes away some of the bickering about finances if you pay bills together, then have your own money for your spending).
Now, women have been a target and scapegoat for way too long. You cannot make an article talking about our mistakes, without providing one talking about mens mistakes. I know women are far from perfect, but so are men, so be fair, and get off our backs!

OMG this is seriously the most ridiculous list...so ridiculous in fact, that it has inspired me to comment on here for the first time (and you know aol reports on alot of nonsense)...not even a big deal but how dare you say 5 mistakes ALL women make? where do you live? what year is this? I dont have problems in ANY of these areas nor do a lot of other women...even if it were accurate, this article is so trivial and irrelevant (aside from maybe the financial aspect)

Finance definitely! My ex wife didn't have a clue. She knew what she wanted to buy, but the cost wasn't important. It was to ME though, since I had to pay the bills...

This is ridiculous and offensive. The bra size one is reasonable because most women don't wear the "proper" one, but everything else is dumb. At least put "many" or "most". Once you say "all" you just automatically make yourself wrong.

What a moron, are you serious? 5 Mistakes ALL Women make... You remind me of an insesitive women hater who has been under a rock for the past 40 years. Anyone who tosses all members of a group together in this day and age has serious issues. Or when you write an article in 2009 with issues that where prevelent decades ago. Back in the 70's we had a ' trailer park trash hoe' move next door. (That's what she was referred to, no lie) She used to make comments like yours. Her favorite was "Don't you know that all turks carry knives' Even better was "All women with big breasts are easy" The all time winner was "All Black men have..." Never mind, You sound just like her . We didn't hold it against her because her parents where 1st cousins. They met while auditioning as extras for the movie "Deliverance" What's your excuse?
P.S. ( During the construction of this arragant comment , No trailer park residents, hillbillies or people of Turkish descent where injured. Nor should offense be taken. I was trying to make a point. What happens when you label 'all' people into groups) I give up, the article must have been written by an idiot. How desperate is AOL for content?

Did anyone think that maybe, just maybe AOL assigned the article to the writer and came up with the title to get you to read it and comment? Obviously not every woman makes all these mistakes, but there are some interesting points in there if you look past the title, actually read the advice and stop the name-calling!
