It's just you and your man and it's time to cozy in for a few hours of flirty, on-couch fun with just a DVD and your hormones. But the wrong flick can do away with the latter, instead causing only awkward glances, sweaty palms and definitely no hanky panky. The wrong selection can ruin libido levels for both of you. To avoid a romantic mood meltdown, check out our top 10 list of surefire mojo killers.
10. "Hannibal"
"Being chopped up into little pieces. Not sexy. Enough said."
-- Jackie, San Diego
9. "Jon & Kate Plus Eight"
"It's hard to get hot and steamy after your guy has watched an entire 30 minutes of the potential hell marriage and children can bring. Eight children plus a bossy wife definitely puts a damper on desire."
-- Chondra, New York
8. "Requiem for a Dream"
"Years ago I went with a date to see this arty little drama. As if the film itself weren't bleak enough, he confessed that it was extra-hard to watch since his best friend had recently died of an overdose."
-- Shannon, Colorado
7. "Swingers"
"One of the ultimate displays of male douchebaggery, 'Swingers' reminds me why I would rather be at home with my cat. Watch it on a date and I can almost guarantee at the end you'll want to punch the first guy you see."
-- Noelle, Washington, D.C.

6. "The O'Reilly Factor"
"From personal experience, I don't recommend anything political. Arguments ensue; action does not."
-- Emma Lee, Brooklyn
5. "South Park"
"I was out with a guy and when we got to his place, his roommates were watching 'South Park' so we joined in. That was fine, but then an episode came on that was all about queefing. There was even a song about it. My sex drive totally plummeted."
-- Trudy, Missouri
4. "Obsessed"

"Ali Larter makes Glenn Close look tame. As a general rule, you don't want your guy questioning the sanity of all women. I saw this with a guy and when we left he said, 'If a hottie like Ali Larter can go psycho, that doesn't bode well for the rest of you.' I didn't get a kiss goodnight."
-- Ricky, Kansas City
3. "Brüno"
"My boyfriend and I recently saw 'Brüno.' My guy loves uber-raunchy, politically incorrect flicks and so I got dragged. As a nasty after-effect, neither of us felt like getting busy between the sheets that night. Nothing more potent to kill a guy's game than a gay Austrian with a potty mouth."
-- Amy, Chicago
2. "Fatal Attraction"
"It's a classic guilty pleasure, and perfect when it's on for the Thursday-night movie on TV -- but definitely don't expose your man. It's like their natural fight-or-flight instinct engages. If you want any post-movie nookie, take this one off the short list!"
-- Lindsay, St. Louis
1. "Brokeback Mountain"
"I rented this with my guy, and let's just say watching gay cowboys didn't exactly get him going. I think the fact that the hotties were more attractive than he is threw off his game. I tried to cuddle up mid-flick and he got rigid as a board. I wouldn't recommend it."
-- Sarah, North Carolina

ain't that the truth! I think I like all the South Park episodes...even the episode mentioned. It was kinda funny how the different sexes reacted!
but I love to laugh&I love South Park, so if I wanna love a date w/him...why not?
(And why would you even *think* of seeing Brokeback Mountain with your boyfriend?)I don't think he'll get turned on by actors playing gay....unles.......

when you are going through a rocky relationship with a child on the Way " Revolutionary Road" NOT the movie to watch. We couldn't look at each other in the face for days after seeing it..lol
Thought that Kate Winslet and Leo might have a sappy ending like "Titanic"....anything but. Word to the wise for troubled relationships...steer FAR away

1) Brokeback Mountain
"...I tried to cuddle up mid-flick and he got rigid as a board."
Maybe he was just nervous that you would notice he had an erection while you were watching two men kiss. That always happens to me.

I was reading this list and then I thought "Broke Back Mountain" would be a horrible choice for a movie with your guy/girl. I scrolled down to see if I could find it on the list. Guess where I found it? It surprised me to see it at number one, although it's bad considering the plot so maybe I shouldn't have been. Pretty good guess, huh?

I think any movies that you have to force your man to watch with you (romantic if not anything else) is something you should avoid watching, unless there's a scene or scenes that make you both feel like doing the deed. ;) It's mostly over-the-top, movies just dripping with romance that are the movies a lot of guys dread having to watch (i.e. Titanic, as listed above). Oh, and chick flicks too (like The Sweetest Thing, horrible movie) should be avoided. Stuff like that should be reserved on a night with your female friends, should any of you watch that kind of thing, not a night with your guy. I myself am a female and I loathe most of them. My boyfriend says he's glad I'm not like those girls who's into those things. In closing, since I said so much, stuff aimed primarily for women (except Lifetime) are not the best choice for movies to watch with a guy. OK I'm done. :)

Actually, I look at these movies as a good test to get to know the personality of a woman I out on a date with- I rather enjoy the company of women who are politically incorrect, and into cult/indie films- many of my guy friends' girlfriends are into horror movies and indie classics, and love south park/family guy - others are into the girly girl stuff and, well...not so much.
I can't be alone on this one.

I think couples should watch The O'Reilly Factor or other news programs together because it can lead to an interesting conversation. I enjoy hearing my significant other's views on politics. There is nothing wrong w/ a healthy debate

ladies, just because Hollywood loves a good fag movie (Broke Back and Milk) doesn't mean you're guy will, and if he does you have some other issues you will be addressing at some point. It is not because we are homophobes or whatever, the movies suck.If you want to impress a hetero man, bring home Gran Torino or The Wrestler. If you are in a pinch,Snatch,Lock Stock,Casino and Goodfellas are solid fallbacks.Your guy will be telling all his friends how cool you are.Save Sideways for his poker night.

I am speaking ahead of turn so to speak but my date & I both wanted to go to a movie on our first date (ahem) tomorrow and we both wanted to see the same movie. We are in our early 40s and are going to see an action movie (not THAT kind of action!) so I guess I'd recommend to come to an agreement before making the assumption that he or she will like watching a movie before ruining the wholething. Bareback Mountain? I'm a guy and not even "NO" South Park? I love South Park but not everyone does so ask first!
