Jeez Louise, we couldn't even share a hairbrush with our sisters. But two sisters in Utah are somehow capable of sharing a husband. Katie and Priscilla Churcher share a husband, Travis, and they say it's great for their personal lives. After all, they only have to spend half as much time as normal doting on their husband, which gives them more time to hang out with friends, and there's always a babysitter when they go on a date.
Read more about this unusual sibling situation after the jump.
All three of them were raised in Fundamentalist Mormon families (Fundamentalists are an offshoot of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints who practice polygamy), so when Katie and Travis were married, they discussed the possibility of having plural wives in the family.
After a few years, Travis began wooing Priscilla, and she slowly fell in love with him. Since polygamy is illegal, they were married in an unofficial church ceremony, and they now live together in a house, with each of the wives having their own rooms that Travis alternates between.
Although they admit it can be challenging, everybody loves the family dynamic, and they hope that some day laws will change so they can openly practice their religious beliefs.

And how does this harm you? Or anyone? Let them love and marry as they want. Only perverts think marriage is about sex.

Does anyone not recognize the real "sickness" in this article? It is not about faith, religion or what one church condones over the other. Those kids are both cousins and at the same time; siblings. It's really incestuous to a large degree, although there is no blood relation between Travis and the sisters...

Could have been worse. The usual penalty for bigamy is TWO mothers-in-law!

Maybe this arrangement wouldn't work for you, but it works for them. It's not fair to bash them when they are open enough to share thiscontroversial story! Everyone's belief is just that... a BELIEF. No one can say whether its right or wrong its just different. Not everyone agrees about tatoos or drugs or cohabitiation and sex without marriage or gay rights... If no one's getting hurt... who cares?!

Sure a lot of ignorant people making comments on this situation of plural marriage and the Mormon Church. First of all, the LDS church of Utah or the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints does promote poligamy and does so on a daily basis. Women in the church are sealed (married) to dead mormon men of "high standing". In that church, women are married for "time" and "eternity". They believe that when a mormon man dies and he has followed all the tenets of the church, he will become a god of some other planet and as such he needs women to procreate spirit babies to inhabit the babies born on the planet they rule over. It is a kick to learn the teachings of this church. The women get married in the temples to dead men for eternity and they believe they will thus be goddesses.. Pretty good eh? Like here, they teach that you must have all the children you can to "provide tabernacles".. the bodies to be inhabited by the "spirit babies" their god is creating in heaven. I am referring to this earth we live on. They believe that thier god has physical sex with the literal millions of wives he has in heaven since he has a body of flesh and bone like you and I. Their god needs to have the tabernacles for the spirit babies he procreates and the gestation period is like her on earth.. yes y'all, a full nine months. I cannot imagine how the Mormon people can believe this crap. If their god is procreating spirity babies to inhabit all the bodies of babies born on earth, then in all reality, how does he rule anything? He must have a huge supply of viagra since he must have a perpetual erection to service the millions of women he has as wives. So pleeeeeese.. do not tell me the Utah chuch does not teach plural marriage. It is taught, practiced and that is that. To conclude, the Mormon church teaches that their Jesus was married to many wives... those who tended to his needs, that he was also a sinner and was crucified because of his poligamy.. Also that his sacrifice does not cover sins like stealing, murder, adultry and more.. You have to die as a sacrifice yourself to atone for those sins in the Utah church. If you research the church, you will learn so much more. The founder Joseph Smith was one of the greatest con men of all times.......his bullshit is leading tens of millions to hell........and of course the Mormon church teaches there is no hell. They have three levels of heaven and the third level has three more where the highest is where you become a god yourself....... care to join? lol

Sighs, Your comments are so very false that I don't know where to begin. If you want to learn about a religion, ask someone who knows and loves and plays the game. (little sports analogy there)

I believe when they said they go out on dates, they meant with the husband, not someone else.
This is a sect that at one time was part of the LDS/Mormon church. It was a long time ago that the LDS/Mormon church made the decision that polygamy was not acceptable. Members who did not agree with the decision split off and formed their own offshoot religion. The LDS/Mormon church has publicly denounced these sects.
We have a decent number of LDS/Mormons in our area (none of whom believe in polygamy.) I have always found them to be great people. Their kids were delightful to teach. They seem very family oriented and have a large support system in their church. While I may not agree with every one of their beliefs, I respect them for their choices.
Polygamy, throughout history and in many cultures, has had a purpose. It was to increase the population. Especially in cultures with a higher rate of infant mortality and a short average life span. It's just not necessary in this day and age.
But I guess if these women are happy with the arrangement, who are we to tell them they can't live this way. It's their lives. When it comes down to it only one marriage is legal. And if something were to happen to the husband, the second "wife" could very well be left out in the cold.
