Even if you don't have a kid, you might want to start carrying a picture of one around in your wallet. Scientists say that when a wallet is found, those with munchkin portraits are most likely to be returned.
Researchers dropped 240 wallets on the streets of Edinburgh and waited to see how many good, decent people there were roaming around. It turns out people are much more likely to be good and decent if there's a child involved. Chalk it up to baby magic.
Some 88 percent of the baby-fied wallets were returned, compared to 42 percent overall. The psychologists who did the study theorize that seeing a baby involuntarily elicits a caring response from people. Thanks, evolution, for safeguarding our Sub Club cards.
So the next time your sister sends you a photo of a brand new niece or nephew, don't stick it on the fridge -- stash it in your wallet and make those kids earn all those Christmas presents they'll get from you.
