'In Fantasy Land, We Teach Our Kids Abstinence -- And They Listen'
We're giving some major props to the Ellen and Portia of the Bronx, Vikky Cruz and Deoine Scott. The happy couple just graduated from Mott Haven Village Preparatory High School in the South Bronx with the honor of "best couple" bestowed upon them by their classmates. Even though their peers voted for them, accepting them took some warming up at first. "Before, when we started going out, everybody would look at us, like, 'What's wrong with them?'" says Vikky. "But then from 11th grade, everybody started getting comfortable."
The girls, pictured here on prom night, had been out and dating each other for over two-and-a-half years when their names landed on the ballot for "Best Couple." Their love, now immortalized in the yearbook, will become official soon, as they got engaged in December.
In our experience, high school was definitely not an easy place to be different, so these girls definitely win "Most Awesome" in Lemondrop's yearbook.

I don't think so. People are so into the "Politically Correct" crap they can't vote the way it should be. I guess there needs to be two categories. Best "Gay Couple" and best "Normal Couple". Oh, and I don't care what all the do gooders think.

Why is this news?
My high school's best couple back in 2006 was a lesbian couple. They were quite popular, one being a cheerleader and the other a basketball player.
Kudos to them certainly, but I think gay people are becoming more accepted.
And Will, just because they don't fit your subjective definition of 'normal' doesn't mean they're not. That's just rude.

There is noting normal about sex between sax sex persons. That is an abomination. It is against God and it is agains nature. 2 of the same sex of human cannot procreate. That is the reason God gave us sex in the first place. Homosexuality is never going ton be normal. I can accept the people, but I cannot and will not accept the action. God put us above all other animals and gave us the brain power to be able to control our actions. Those who can't are lower than the animals and need to be locked in a zoo where we can make the choice to not go see them.
