A federal judge on Thursday overturned a guilty verdict against 50-year-old mother Lori Drew, the woman many consider responsible for the 2006 cyber-bullying death of Missouri teen Megan Meier. Drew used MySpace to pose as a 16-year-old boy named Josh who flirted with and then taunted Megan. Writing as Josh, Drew told Megan that "the world would be a better place without you." Hours later, Megan hanged herself. Drew was originally found guilty of three misdemeanor charges and was scheduled to be sentenced today, but the judge dismissed the charges.
What do you think? Is Drew responsible for Megan's death or should she be let free? Tell us in the comments.

Just because she had a typo in her comment does not make her stupid....Try to stay on point...
That mother should have received jail time..Do you know why the charges were dismissed?

Yes Lori was wrong, but as a mother of a teenager I try to focus on making sure my daughter has high enough self-esteem and enough positive male attention from her father to prevent being suicidal the first time an internet friend says something rude. She obviously had to have something else depressing and upsetting in her life to make her kill herself over something someone said that she never even laid eyes on.
Lori is a poor parent and a horrible role model to her own child, but jail time is senseless. What if it had been a real Josh who said those things, would he have been wrong for voicing his opinion to some random girl in an email? The real world is tough, and people say mean things all the time.
Get over it.

It is obvious to me that Lori Drew knew exactly what she was doing and some how had a good lawyer who knew the loop holes. As for the judge, I don't know how he can sleep at night when he knew that the girl was emotionally distraught due the insults that Lori Drew posted on her wall.
I hope only because I wish no will ill towards anyone, that Lori Drew's daughter doesn't go through the same thing...

She should be ashamed of herself. As an adult she should have known better...as a human being she should have known better. This type of behavior disgusts me. How do people sleep at night?

There were some e-mails,,, not like the innocent chatter of one young teen to another ...they were deliberate..they were intentional... they were provocative...they were seducing...and mostly...they were concocted, evil doings of a monstrous mind ...Both enticing and entrapping the affections of a young girl, twisting and contorting truth.. playing into the innocence of Megan's vunerabilities .. You see, we ALL are DESIGNED TO RECEIVE TRUTH..Anything short of that, is a DEATH TO TRUST .. Every action we produce is about honoring another human being... Any thing short of that is CRIMINAL.

I think the right decision was made to acquit, just on legal grounds. But morally Lori Drew is evil and I truly hope she hangs herself as well as her daughter and the other gal involved. Hopefully they will all do the right thing and end their miserable and meaningless lives.
