To look pretty on less cash, you could yoink your roommate's fancy conditioner and hope she doesn't notice. Or you could try out these drugstore and designer beauty bait-and-switches. Either way, you'll look so good only your stylist will know for sure what you did. 1. Color formulas are generally the same among mascaras, so no need to spring for a department store version. Black is black at $7 or $20. But it is worth investing in a clean mascara wand or comb that you can use to separate your lashes before the cheaper one dries.
2. Instead of giving yourself a spritz of pricey perfume, get a more subtle version of the scent all over your body. Spend less for the fragrance's body lotion or cream and blend with unscented generic-brand lotion.

3. Add a few drops of rose oil to your cheapee body wash to calm your senses before you head to work. Tip: Look for a wash that contains glycerin -- it makes your skin feel softer than bar soap.
4. Drugstore eye shadow typically gets a bad rap for its poor lasting power. But you can make it stay put all day if you apply a primer or even a little concealer as a base beforehand.
5. This one's for the mamas out there: Use your kid's baby shampoo as makeup remover. If it won't give an infant tears, it probably won't make you weep either.
6. Two-buck nail polish takes the pain out of testing color trends. Good thing, too, when you pick a bad one since they stay on for only about a nanosecond. When you hit a jackpot hue, though, make it last longer by using a higher-quality top coat to seal in glossy color.
7. When you're nearly done with a tube of lipstick, scrape off what's left into a pill box and combine with a clear gloss from the drugstore for a lighter, more shimmery shade of the one you loved.
8. Scented products, like jasmine hair serum, cost upwards of $15. It's just as easy to tame flyaways with drugstore-scented body oil or lotion in a pinch.
9. Make the most out of your ChapStick by turning it into a luxurious exfoliator. Combine it with cane sugar and smooth onto your lips. Rub them together lightly, then smooth off the mixture to reveal a softened pout.

After taking a bath or shower while your body is still damp, for very dry skin, cover it with plain old petroleum jelly (Vasaline). Also a good moisturer for you face.

For the jasmine hair serum knock-off, can you apply the drugstore-scented body oil or lotion into the hair when the hair you have isn't the THICKEST in the world? Or will it just make you look like a greasy mop?...

In a pinch, you can also use regular lotion to wipe off make up with a tissue or cotton. Cold Cream is also cheap, but lotion is usually more handy.

I love lipstains but hate chapped lips. Want to take off lipstain lipsticks in a hurry and cheaply without chapped lips? Use gel baby oil. Put on your lips, rub lips together and wipe off with a tissue.
That is probably whats in the little tubes that makeup companies charge for $ 8-10.

I love lipstains and used them for years. I hate the chapped lips from them.
But now that has all changed. I use gel baby oil. Just spread on lips, rub lips together and wipe off.
