We didn't think guys cared much about makeup. Once again science has proven us wrong: What really gets men going is sexy, lusty, smoky eyes. As Cosmo recently reported, an MIT study revealed that dudes are most drawn to a woman when her eyes are shaded darker than her face.
The theory is that across all ethnicities, women have a greater contrast around their eyes compared to their skin than men do. Thus, when a guy ogles the chick with the smoky eyes across the room, it's because he equates her dark lids with femininity.
Who knew? We thought that guys were more into the au naturale look ... We guess we'll have to save our favorite Chanel nude shadow for all-girls movie night and partying with our gays from now on.

Seriously? MIT decided to study the attraction of men to certain eyeshadow-skin combinations? That's an odd use of resources for such a competitive school.
I believe the "smokey eyes" look is best for evening events. Also, it should not look like you merely smeared black eyeshadow around on your lids like an Avril-inspired middle schooler. I think way too many people overdo it; everyone can choose a color/colors that are much more flattering to their skin/complexion AND more creative than plain, obvious black.

I actually believe that’s true. Ever since I started wearing darker eye makeup and doing smokey eyes, a lot more people have called me pretty and more guys have been checking me out and flirting with me. So I think if you do a good job with the smokey eye and it matches you, it works good for attracting guys. Of course I like doing the natural look at times but I never got any attention from guys when I didn't wear makeup. So I think guys who say they prefer the natural look when they see a girl are lying. I can understand thinking that of your girlfriend or wife but just seeing a girl I don't believe but that's what I think.
