We all know Kris Allen took home the American Idol gold. But let's be honest -- the real star of the season was sometimes annoying, yet always entertaining, runner-up, Adam Lambert -- and he's already signed with the same record company. (Not a shabby consolation prize, eh?) Both of their debut albums will drop in the fall. Meaning, the real competition is on. And this time, it's the big leagues: instead of garnering votes, the dudes are selling records. And if AI history has taught us anything, it's not necessarily the champs that make it big. Jennifer Hudson, anyone?
Lemondrop and Life and Style magazine want to know -- will Kris Allen prove America made the right choice, or will Adam Lambert pull a Clay Aiken and outsell the winner from second place?

Maybe you liberals don't care if he is gay, but I would not want him to be an Idol to my child. Can he sing? Yes, of course he can sing to a certain extent if you like all the screaming and yelling. I hope he does well in his career, but Kris is solid and will do well also.

I truely believe that Adam will go farther. Kris's voice isn't quite as good as Adam and isn't as exciting. Even if America doesn't like him as much as Kris he is way more interesting. America is fascinated with him even if they hate him. It's quite simple. I think that Kris won't go that far because it's not his scene. Adam lives in LA, all he needed was publicity to be big, and he got it.

They will make sure it is Adam. They will ccontinue to cram him down people's throats as they have all season. Adam only appeals to a small audience but they will totally promote him over Kris. The recording industry is dying because all the so called "powers that be" keep giving us talent that they want us to like rather than the talent that is truly appealing. They did not promote Clay he succeeded because of his fan base. I think Kris's fan base will step up to the plate also. I for one am tired of crappy artists passed off as talented. Kayne West may can write but he is so arrogant and cannot carry a tune in a bucket and Lady Gag Gag, give me a break. This is the talent we are supposed to be spending money on. Well I'll save my money to buy toilet paper.

Adam does not "try too hard" at all to be different...he simply IS different because he has an amazing talent that rises above the 'run of the mill' singers (which, though talented, Kris is one of). People are correct, Kris will probably do well in small clubs, bars and maybe even fairs.....but to say that he would be able to sustain a great show at a stadium or concert hall is REALLY giving him too much credit ~ he doesn't have the stage presence (sorry, but he induces yawning after awhile). The only way he'll succeed is if he keeps the pre-teen fans that basically think "cuteness' trumps talent. On the other hand....Adam can deliver on a great show WHATEVER the venue....EVEN the softer ballad songs (plenty of songs out on YouTube by him now as evidence of that). Adam never struggles with his notes (as Kris has) & to not recognize that is pure denial.

Adam is a flash in the pan. He yells through most of his songs and shows him nasty looking tongue. Kris has a lot more class and doesn't need any gimmicks like weird hair, nail polish and eye liner to sell himself. Kris appeals to a larger groups of people.

I have heard him sing these songs, but still I don't think he has an amazing voice, maybe for 80s nostalgia circuits, cabaret bars, or even broadway, but I don't think he has lasting power and he can only last for a little while. Once the novelty of him is gone he's going nowhere. He does not appeal to many different types of people, he appeals to twenty-somethings and teenagers that are trying to be different than everyone else. Plus, a lot of people are getting sick of him and all the press he's getting for certain reasons. I have nothing against Adam, I like him as a person, but I don't think he has staying power. He will probably fizzle out like most of the American Idol runner-ups. I'm not saying I hope that happens, I hope he becomes successful, but I'm just saying if America wanted him to win American Idol then, they would have voted for him. That's all I'm saying.

Yeah that Gina girl is wrong. Adam Lambert will be a hell of a lot more successful than Kris Allen. Kris' voice is too soft and he does this wierd thing with his mouth every time he sings. It's really annoying. Adam can out sing him any day of the week. Kris has nothing on Adam. I would love to see Kris hit those notes like Adam does... Fail. On top of that, Adam Lambert has got nothing but great feed back from the judges all season, Kris didn't. The only reason he won is because these teenage girls think he's hot. Adam is a hell of a lot sexier than Kris in my opinion. One more thing... Guess who got a standing O from Simon? Not Kris Allen! Lmao!! Adam deserved that from simon and obviously he got it.
