There are some people who just get all the breaks. For example, starring as Mean Girl #1 in "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen" usually does not lead to one becoming an international sex symbol. Nevertheless, there Megan Fox is with her dark hair and blue eyes, like some kind of super-hot female Elvis of the 21st century. But we now know that, despite her 22-inch waist and glorious bosoms, she is not perfect, for she is lugging around one heck of a weird thumb. Possibly two, but since she's always putting the right one in or near her mouth, we can only be certain of that one.
It may just be a plain old clubbed thumb (boring!), but we're hoping it's a hitchhiker's thumb for added comedy, and also in case she's stranded on the side of the road and needs to get a lift ... not that she'd have any problems, anyway.

Maybe she has manhands? But I agree with Dr. Bill, there are certain characteristics that are indicative of acute cardiac maladies that may go undiagnosed. Years ago I had the gas man in to check the hot water heater as I smelled household gas around it, and as he was working on it I couldn't help but notice his thumb was really strange - very big and square compared to the rest of his digits. It just didn't match. I guess I kept staring and he said "It's ok, everyone notices my thumb after a while... I lost my thumb in an accident and I needed a thumb so I could keep my job so the doctor removed my big toe and put it where my thumb used to be, you can't do any kind of manual work without a thumb." Umm ok. Sounds kinda far fetched but who knows. You wanna see funny hands look at Fergie's - she has these fat little sausage fingers. The most beautiful hands on a celebrity by far is Laura Dern - amazing slender hands that take on a life of their own.

I went to High School with a girl who boasted two thumbs like Megan's: flattened and enlarged. She was rather challenged, intellectually and I wonder if there's a link between the thumbs and IQ. Not that Megan Fox's IQ is at stake or anything, as long as she's young, attractive and popular, she'll have work.

What is Holt-Oram syndrome?
Holt-Oram syndrome is a disorder that affects bones in the arms and hands (the upper limbs) and may also cause heart problems. All people with this disorder have at least one limb abnormality that affects bones in the wrist (carpal bones). Often, these wrist bone abnormalities can be detected only by X-ray. Affected individuals may have additional bone abnormalities that can include a missing thumb or a thumb that looks like a finger, partial or complete absence of bones in the forearm, an underdeveloped bone of the upper arm, and abnormalities that affect the collar bone and shoulder blades. Bone abnormalities may affect each arm differently, and in these cases the left side is usually affected more than the right side. Sometimes, only one arm and/or hand (on either the right side or the left side) is affected.
About 75 percent of individuals with Holt-Oram syndrome have heart problems. The most common problem is a defect in the muscular wall, or septum, that separates the right and left sides of the heart. Atrial septal defects (ASD) are caused by a hole in the septum between the left and right upper chambers of the heart (atria), and ventricular septal defects (VSD) are caused by a hole in the septum between the left and right lower chambers of the heart (ventricles). Sometimes people with Holt-Oram syndrome have cardiac conduction disease, which is caused by abnormalities in the electrical system that coordinates contractions of the heart chambers. Cardiac conduction disease can lead to problems such as a slower-than-normal heart rate (bradycardia) or a rapid and ineffective contraction of the heart muscles (fibrillation). Cardiac conduction disease can occur along with other heart defects (such as septal defects) or as the only heart problem in people with Holt-Oram syndrome.
