You should not make a list of deaths unless you have watched the movie. Two socks does not die but howls a send off t them at the end as they leave the village. Do your homework!

Lori, I really hope you saw a shortened version of the movie. The sight of Kostner leaving the village (which you know was doomed) said more than anything could. However, "Hollywood" just couldn't leave bad enough alone. I could never figure out why they had to add the last few minuted to further blast the "whites" by showing them not only shooting his wolf, but his horse! They really ruined the movie with that ending.

Two Socks is killed. The wolf at the end is meant to show that Dances with Wolves, is still dancing with wolves. The howl is meant to tell of the sadness in what is yet to befall the Sioux.

No, Two Socks died. You really think he could have survived the multiple gun shot wounds? The wolf howling at the end was just a random wolf for dramatic purposes.

Didn't you watch the entire movie? They show Two Sock lying there ...obviously DEAD. The end of the movie....the howling ...comes from other wolves which signifies the fact that there is a departure taking place. Wolves ( and their cousins our dogs ) do this when trying to communicate with or locate other pack members.

Zolemica and Lori, the wolf does get shot. The last thing I remember of the movie was the wolf getting shot in the hind quarters and him scurrying around with his but dragging and they kept shooting. I remember thinking that they killed the movie also.

FYI -- read up on your history and you will see that that is exactly how the North won the War Between the States (there was nothing "civil" about it). Their plan was to destory as many people (women and children too) and as much property (including food; what then didn't steal first) in the South as possible. You can't fight (or live) if you don't have any food or shelter. Killing a wolf or horse would be nothing to these monsters.

Two-socks was killed. He was following the wagon that Costner was in. He was killed by the soldiers and members of the tribe that were going rescue him were on a ridge hiding and saw it happen. They would have been discovered if the soldiers had rode up to the top to see if the wolf was dead.

I don't understand why you people are still reading this list if you think it's stupid. Not that I agree with the list, but I'm only scrolling through to read the comments.
(Spoiler alert, gay debate coming up.)
Anyway.
Two Socks did in fact die. The white men beat down Kevin Costner and then shot Two Socks. I wish I had watched the version Lori did, it would have saved some tears.
