You know we're pretty generous with the Happy Pills here. But there are times when you need some seriously strong stuff just to make it through the next hour. So sit back, relax and let Dr. Lemondrop help you out with these proven, natural pick-me-ups.Bump some techno. Turns out there is a use for machine-gun-beat bass, other than keeping the makers of Excedrin in business. Research shows that people who are asked to listen to up-tempo music rate themselves as happier than those who are asked to listen to slow songs.
Give away some cash. A 2008 study showed that when people dole out money for gifts for friends or charitable donations, they get a big boost in happiness. So give a dollar or two to that street musician or your co-worker who's always strapped. Even if you never see the money again, you're getting back something more valuable in return.

I have used medical marijuana for 36 years to combat depression and
chronic pain in my cervical spine. Doctors have given me every drug under
the sun, including narcotics (which induce nausea and are addictive),
steroids (both oral and injections), tranquelizers and muscle relaxors,
which are very addictive and have side-effects, similar to alcohol... I've
had ultrasound, physical therapy, chiropractic care, massage therapy and
exercise. There are times when the pain is so severe that I've considered
taking my own life. I don't want to die, but I do want to find modest
relief, without resorting to going into dangerous places and meeting with
people that I don't much care for. I am a law-abiding, tax-paying
citizen, in every other respect, other than I found an herb which eases my
pain (mental and physical), that's illegal. I will continue to seek out marijuana, whenever my pain and depression, become life-threatening.
Sincerely,
Michael R. Sanders

If your in a down mood, listen to Bruce Springsteen. If that doesn't work, start a conversation with yourself and eventually, your inner self will crack a joke during the discussion, which will then lead to a smile.

Have you lost your mind!?!?!? Give away some cash - make a strawberry that looks like "Barney the Dinosaur" - GET REAL!!! You must be living in a fantasy world. I don't have enough cash to take care of myself, much less give it away. I don't wanna rant, but it appears you haven't been hit by the economic crunch yet!!!

The Mail Order King:
You got it down. Hit the nail right on the head! The Bible says "Don't be worried about things in life (face it there's always something to worry about) but rather lay it all out before the Lord asking for His help (with thankfulness) and He will give you a peace in your heart and mind that defies comprehension. I have experienced this many times. And I keep asking myself "why do I feel so good?" because it just doesn't make sense to my finite mind. All I know is that it works! Just remember faith begets faith, and doubt begets doubt. That is why God responds to faith. And it's not how much faith you have, it's who you have it in, that counts.

Thank you! I am suffering in my mind and body, right now. You helped me remember this truth (God) and how powerful He is, regardless of circumstances (financial, mental and physical). I will meditate on what you said and pray, releasing my bitterness.
May He bless you!

This might sound weird, but I was really depressed one time, and I redid my MySpace profile and felt wayyy better. It was strange, it's like I felt better about myself afterwards. I was going through a really hard time, but it really helped out.
Sounds weird, I know, but it really worked out!

This is for "Slick." The brain is NOT a muscle. It is an organ, and it's the chief organ in your nervous system. Muscles are used for physical movement of your body. The brain is the organ that tells the rest of your body what to do. True, we do need to exercise our brain, but then considering DNA and genetic makeup...perhaps no amount of exercise will help in density of the brain????

Usually, I'll just start singing and dance around as if I'm in a Broadway show. Or, I'll put on the radio and start dancing. Sometimes, I'll go with a friend to a part of town I've never been to - we'll browse through all the shops and take pictures.

Okay... Parodex and other fighting company: Seriously? You're fighting on a comment section of a web article? Really? Are you both my age? (I'm 20 by the way...) If you're my parents age, then I would suggest that you both take your opinions and tell them to someone who cares. Honestly, no one here wants to hear your constant whiny "Oh blah blah blah My mother never hugged me blah blah blah" crap. Please go hug a cactus and BE HAPPY!!!!

i can honestly say EDM (electronic dance music) or Techno has made me a much happier and upbeat person. I used to have issues with anxiety, stress, and depression and my problems have gone down a lot since I have taken up EDM. It's just so upbeat, happy, and fast, it really makes you want to dance right then and there. It's unreal what it can do.
