You know we're pretty generous with the Happy Pills here. But there are times when you need some seriously strong stuff just to make it through the next hour. So sit back, relax and let Dr. Lemondrop help you out with these proven, natural pick-me-ups.Bump some techno. Turns out there is a use for machine-gun-beat bass, other than keeping the makers of Excedrin in business. Research shows that people who are asked to listen to up-tempo music rate themselves as happier than those who are asked to listen to slow songs.
Give away some cash. A 2008 study showed that when people dole out money for gifts for friends or charitable donations, they get a big boost in happiness. So give a dollar or two to that street musician or your co-worker who's always strapped. Even if you never see the money again, you're getting back something more valuable in return.

Honestly, I go for a walk, take my chihuahua sometimes, listen to something good and happy. Other times, I sit or lay on my bed with my chihuahua and talk to him and make him smile. I love playing with him...so aside from the prescribed Prozac, my dog makes me the happiest.
Nicky (the dog) and laying down on a blanket watching the sun set over the beach is good too :] I should take Nicky with me one evening... :]

I just had a guided imagery class that ended 7 minutes ago. During my guided imagery I imagined myself with my dogs (2 Chihuahuas and a Dachseranian) on Laguna Beach. I was sitting in my beach chair and my doggies were romping all around me and giving me kisses. Yes, I'm going to do more with them too.! ;o)

I have friends of many years and don't often see some of them. But when I think of a specific friend for some reason, I try to call them. They are pleased to hear from me and a good conversation makes me feel happier too.

A way to better your mood just y thinking of something? Are they kidding me here??? If all it took to better my mood is to "think" of something then my moods must come and go pretty damn easly and not be worth much at all. No, to get me out of a bad mood always takes some kind of action going in the oposite of whatever action put me in that bad mood. People who only have to "think" to get into a better mood must be very shallow people? At least that's how it seems to me anyway. If in fact that's all it takes for you, don't your moods change often becuase after all, we all are thinking constantly and the subject we think about is always changing with good and bad mixed in right.

Wow Parodex -- how you get that people who just have to think themselves into a better mood must be shallow is beyond me. Do you know the definition of shallow? I'm thinking you must not. Take your Prozac and call it a day.

Perhaps you can’t change your mood because you’re such a pessimistic A-hole. Why don’t you go suck one? Thanks.

No, I'm far from needing anything like Prozac thank you. And yes, anyone who ONLY need to think of something to better their moods well, they don't have very strong feelings about their moods then. In other words, for the slow people like yourself, it just doesn't take much to sway your moods. And yes, I know shallow people well, both by listening to them talk or like in yourself, reading what they happen to write. Better think of something nice becuase I'm sure your mood has just changed lol You'll be better in no time or atleast until someone else happens to say something you don't agree with.

The brain is the strongest muscle we have. You obviously don't respect it and I'm guessing from your commets; you don't use it very much either.

Wow Parodex, you sure can read a lot into a person's writing, can't you? Only needing to think positive thoughts to change a mood doesn't make a person shallow anymore than thinking negative thoughts makes a person "deep."
It's pretty impressive that you can tell whether or not a person is shallow by reading their responses to your comments. I guess anyone who disagrees with you is shallow and deserves your insults, huh? Why would you choose to be in a bad mood or feel the need to have "very strong feelings" about your moods in such a way that it takes a lot to get you out of that mood?
Oh, by the way, run spell check before you add your comments, would you? Your spelling errors are making you look "shallow." Anyone who obviously don't care enough to spell their words correctly must be, right?

Get happy in 30 minutes or less: TAKE A 30 SECOND BREAK EVERY HOUR.
Simply...stand up, hang up your phone, look away from the computer, stretch
your hands to the ceiling, shake your shoulders and take a deep breath. If
necessary, sip a drink of water. a)This will cause you to "slow down" in
your speech and thought processes, b) this will give you a moment to get
away from "sitting" for long stretches of time, c) this will assist in your over
all circulation by reaching for the ceiling, d) it will allow you a moment to
laugh, remember, or even pray. e) It has been known to create a "new
idea" as well.

So, my two cents....
I think that if you're in a bad mood for a really good reason then you have every right to vent and release that crap. For sure!
But if you for no reason just wake up feeling crummy, that's when all these fun tips come in handy.
Right????
p.s.
nice advertisement for laxatives! What's that all about???

What makes me happy? The thought of traveling, getting good bargains in doing so makes me happy. The thought of generating targeted web traffic for my different marketing projects THRILLS me. The thought of teaching others how to turn a blog into a cash machine excites me. Watching my son laugh, learn and grow makes me over joyed. The thought of my dear husband finally doing the things I wish he would do and for him to stop doing the things that aggravate me.... makes me very happy. I focus on that which I can control and change, and leave the rest to God.
