17. Bridget Hennessy, "8 Simple Rules" The dimwitted blonde's interests involve thongs, teenage boys and not much else.
16. Rachel Green, "Friends" The quintessential spoiled Daddy's girl never met a department store she didn't like.

14. Smurfette Smurf, "The Smurfs" Did you know her existence was created for the sheer purpose of causing jealousy and competition among the male smurfs? Wtf?
13. Kim, "Kath and Kim" The unintelligent 20-something is unable to fend for herself after splitting with her beau, so she moves back home with ... her mom.
12. Jenna Maroney, "30 Rock" Despite her desperate and maniacal efforts, Jenna constantly plays second-fiddle to the male star of TGS, Tracy Jordan.

All of these women are being judged just because they acted on a sitcom. These show were meant for nothing more than entertainment, and I cannot believe that all of you so called feminists are so fired up over something that is make believe. Feminism is a joke, and I am a woman. I know that I cannot physically do my husband's job, but I also know that he could not mentally handle my job, I stay home and raise my children, because I don't give a damn about a high powered career, we make it by just fine on what he makes. You shouldn't judge tv sitcom women, the fact that this message board even exists is pretty pathetic and I cannot believe that someone actually paid to create this website. Find something better to do with your time, I'm talking to all those feminists, fight a cause that is real is instead of make believe.

A list of women that have one thing in common. They are all exactly what men want in a woman. Ladies if you are single, There might be a lesson here. In the good ol days, Women wern't stupid, But they did make an effort to make their man feel special. Men still do it for women, But woman tell you straight up they think we are stupid, and crude, etc. Maybe we should tell you the truth when you ask us if those pants make your ass look big.

HOw I wish I had used what I had and found myself a sweet old sugardaddy when i could have.
Now I'm dried up and old and wrinkled and with little money.. living on my sparse pension and social security. I could be living in comfort instead of worn out from working my life away and taking care of a man who couldnt wipe his own arse.
I had it all, I could bring home the bacon stir it up in a pan.. and make my man so glad hes a man.. gag me with a spoon. I had the look s and figure but i lacked the brains. I worked myself to death to take care of him, his kids and my job and now Im worn out and useless while he lays back retired and cant fix himself a cup of coffee. I scream!

I strongly suspect that the makers of this list suffer from homeliness and a general failure to secure enviable male companionship. To include ambitionless, selfish and doltish characters (e.g., Bundy) with those who are financially independent and successful (McBeal or Green) is only to fault them for an affinity to traditional, but politically innocuous elements -- men and clothes. Moreover, the list completely overlooks authorial tone-- that is, the way the writers assess these characters. Effective role modeling is not merely achieved by showing characters of whom one might approve, but ALSO of poking fun at (if not deriding) those who are problematic. The sheer presence of a character doesn't indicate endorsement. Characters like the Bundy women are the objects of jokes and one shouldn't be so haughty to assume that all members of the viewing audience can't and don't get that. It is the listmakers who are vapid 1970's cliches, and, themselves, bad role models.

Most the women on tv these days just look like sluts. The reality shows are horrible, I dont watch them, and the regular shows have few if any women who have class, style and morals. Give me back the days of "Julia", "The Doris Day Show" "Mary Tyler Moore" and "That Girl". These shows were not perfect by any means, but the main character THE WOMEN had class, and goals and was not dependent on a man nor did they sleep around with everyone they dated. These women had careers, children and social lives that we looked up to. Today its all just sex and trashy women who are 50 trying to look 25. and the young women they all act like whores and fighting over worthless men who have the iq of a dog. Tv today is a very sad state, I don't watch much of it at all, we rent the old sitcoms and watch those or the better cable networks, animal planet, history channel, discovery, TCM, Showtime, the rest of tv just sucks. Women need to take back tv, its very clear that men are still in charge of what is going on the air and its all crap, how many CSI's does there need to be? BORING!

Being rather conservative in my own right, I agree with you. However, keep in mind that shows wouldn't be so overtly sexual if there wasn't a market for it. It's a sign of the times we currently live in. Hollywood is liberal and lax compared to what the average person might consider decent and respectable. The bottom line is that SEX SELLS! It always has...and it always will. Like you, I don't watch many reality shows because most are simply embarrasing. Personally, I miss "Designing Women." The women on that show talked about sex too but it was more subdued with more innuendo, which allowed them to still exude class, style, and sophistication.

These women that you put down are the only reason men watch TV. If they still exist I have yet to find one. All the single women I meet are hard working .& independent. Yes there are alot of Kelly Bundies but they marry cops and firemen. Rachel Greens( waitresses) are usually married they are also hard workers and shouldnt be put down

hey, i thought being a feminist was about women fighting for the right to have choices. i'm a stay at home mother of 2 .i chose to stay at home and take care of my kids myself over chasing a career. does that make me totally dependent and hopeless ? try to get a man to get 2 little girls ready for school every day!

I think that the people who created this list are a bunch of dumb ignorant ,shallow bi!@#$%.don't they have something better to do with their time than to make some stupid list .i think whoever made this list is extremely jealous because the women listed her (with the exception of smurfette)make a hell of alot of money for the roles they had played on tv.what's not feminist about that?

You sound like a real bore, so in to yourself, such complimentary things you say about yourself. Anyone who is educated as you claim to be does not need to brag about it, it shows in the way they present themselves.... You do not do that too well.
