These days many young couples are opting to forego their dream weddings to save a buck or ten-thousand. But the fine folks at Improv Everywhere thought that was pretty sad, so they decided to help one lucky couple out by staging a very special wedding reception. Newlyweds Raff and Frank were treated to a full-on party, complete with cake, flowers and requisite dancing of the Macarena. And, oh, a room full of strangers.

I think that is great! My fiance and I live in upstate NY and we just won "Love is in the Air". A contest put on my Stewarts icecream shops. They are throwing us a reception/wedding for free, honeymoon included!

That was outstanding!! That was fun and sweet to view, and probably a wonderful start for them. I was impressed that they were good dancers, too.

Attention New Yorkers !!! See how your tax money is being spent $$$$$.......what a joke. If they do it for only one couple per day or week or whatever, then they need to do it for all couples to avoid a discrimination suit.

Why does everything have to be about a lawsuit. Why can't you just be happy that this couple got a really nice surprise. Are you jealous? Find you someone to marry and go down there and get yourself a wedding receiption.

It wasn't paid for by tax dollars, and wasn't really a gift from the Mayor's office. It's an improv group, they do things like this for fun. http://improveverywhere.com

Sorry to read sour grapes above. I think as a taxpayer I don't mind spreading a little joy and fun now and again! It was a real upper.

How can you help but smile!!! What a great story. So, there are high-spirited people who create great 'good news' to offset all the garbage we usually are exposed to. GREAT STORY!
