In addition to the old "starving children in China" excuse, here's another reason to finish all your food -- 325 employees had to be evacuated from a San Jose AT&T office because somebody finally cleaned out the office fridge ... which was full of rotting food.

Employees assumed they were under a full-scale chemical attack after the funk of rotting food mixed with the odor of the bleach the cleaning lady was using formed a noxious cloud that wafted from one cubicle to another.

The cleaning lady had just had surgery for nasal allergies and had no sense of smell, and didn't notice anything was awry until everybody became violently ill. 18 fire trucks and ambulances with specially trained rescue workers showed up in protective bodysuits(!) to clear out the place before they realized the accumulated leftovers were to blame.

In all seven people were hospitalized and 28 had to receive medical attention, probably making one or two employees wish they hadn't written their names on their reuben.
