These badass chicks from Arcadia High School wanted some r-e-s-p-e-c-t at their high school prom. So they asked school officials to ban misogynistic songs from the playlist. And they did! Now we're not donning prom dresses anytime soon, but here's where we struggle: Despite some artists' misogynistic lyrics, we actually like them, whether it's the Rolling Stones' boys-only rock posturing or Eminem's, uh, everything.
Here's our list of the artists we heart, despite their lady-bashing singles. Can you blame us?
11. Rolling Stones: Under My Thumb
10. Jay-Z: 99 Problems
9. Beastie Boys: Girls
8. Kanye West: Golddigger
7. Rod Stewart: Stay With Me
Click to see the top 6 woman-unfriendly hits we hate to love after the jump.
6. The Cramps: All Women Are Bad
5. Billy Joel: She's Always a Woman.
4. Bob Dylan: Just Like a Woman
3. Elton John: The B*itch Is Back
2. James Brown: It's a Man's World
1. Snoop Dogg/Dr. Dre: B*tches Ain't Shit
Your turn! Who do you listen to despite the fact their songs would send feminists into a frenzy?

the Stones' "Stupid Girl" is a good one. However, If I'm really in the mood for female bashing tunes, no one compares to Frank Zappa. If you can find them, give a listen to "Harry, you're a beast" from "We're only in it for the Money", " Catholic Girls" from "Joe's Garage" or "Jewish Princess" from "Sheik Yerbouti". Nobody but nobody can shatter the feminine illusion like the late Mr. Zappa.

This list is beyond stupid. If they listened to the actual lyrics, they would know that most of those songs are not misogynistic. I'm a feminist, btw.

I can't believe you left "Johnny Hit-and-Run Pauline" by the great LA Punk band "X" off this list. The most excellent lightning fast guitar work has the casual listener strumming air along with, and maybe chiming in with the few lyrics one can manage to understand. Then you get to "He found clumps of hair..." and, whoa...back up, WTF? And then you search and read the lyrics.
X is touring again, with the original line-up. But, I understand that they don't play this on e live anymore.

I'd take the James Brown Song off of the list. While he does say that this is a man's world, he follows that up by saying that "It would be nothing,NOTHING! without a woman or a little girl." I can't agree that that's woman-unfriendly, in fact, I'd say that that holds women in pretty high regard.

I would have to agree with Franklin Mint -- "It's a Man's (Man's Man's) World" doesn't belong on this list. What DOES belong, though, is "Lying Ass B*tch" from Fishbone, in which a girl with whom a boyfriend cheats is treated as the sole transgressor.

I can never decide which is more misogynistic- Stupid Girl or Under My Thumb (coincidentally, they're both on the Aftermath album which I love and definitely recommend)

I believe that there shouldnt be any women bashing songs unless you post men bashing songs. Cause most of them are lying bastards anyways.
