Identical twins marrying a set of identical twins -- it sounds like something from a soap opera. But it actually happened in Wuxi, China, so we can only hope that none of them are evil and/or homicidal. It was unusual enough when Jian Yang, one-half of a set of identical male twins, proposed to Juxiang Jiang, herself one-half of a matching set. But things got weirder when their identical siblings, Kang Yang and Lanxiang Zhang, fell in love at their engagement party. All this led to -- clearly -- a double wedding.
Of course, hilarity and confusion ensued. For instance, Kang once tried to hold his brother Jian's fiancee's hand on a group outing. Naturally, she didn't stop him, because she thought Kang was Jian. And there they stood, until Kang's fiancee helpfully corrected the error. (How did she know?)
Their parents consider the marriages a sign of great luck. Which is good, because with all the potential for accidentally adultery, they're going to need all the luck they can get. That, and name tags.

My Father's (he just died at 91) oldest twin sisters married twin brothers. They were 20 years older than my dad. My Dad was born in 1917 so that was a long time ago. They lived in OK, us in CA so I didn't know them very well and their kids were my parents age. The women were Audrey and Aubrey and the men were Herbert and Halbert. All their kids were normal as far as I know and there were no twins born. That suprises me. So, it's not so rare, new or weird. Unusual and interesting, yes.

People may think that this is 'cute', but it may cause a lifetime of pain. Especially from other people and their outward and flawed opinions of their families. I certainly hope that they are able to stay together and live a long and blessed life. One thing for certain, If one of them needs a liver transplant, or a kidney, there is no chance of rejection other than the family member saying no.

While growing up in Pennsylvania, a girl i knew in high school asked me to her senior prom. Her father and his identical twin brother married sisters and they lived in the same house. It gets creepier. One family had 8 kids, the other had 7. The first seven kids in each family were all born within a few weeks of their cousins. In other words the parents had children at basically the same time, most were within days of each other as far as birthdays.
I remember picking her up at home that night and it was the oddest thing i had ever experienced in my life to that point. Besides kids coming out of the woodwork, they all looked alike.

I knew an extended family in high school that had two kids (cousins) in each class. There were two fathers who were identical twins and the mothers were sisters. One family had 8 kids, the other had 7. Each of the first seven births were all within a couple weeks of each other, some of the birthdays were just a few days apart. It gets weirder as they all lived in the same house too!
I was at the house one time and besides the fact that kids were coming out of the woodwork, they all looked alike, the parents, the kids, everybody. Strange indeed.

Identical twins share the same DNA. Same thing for fingerprints. There may be distinguishing scars acquired in their lives, but even their teeth are identical. I know because my twin nieces had to have numbered xrays because the dentist could not tell them apart, nor their teeth. As they aged, they had different things effect their bodies, such as one had a broken leg, and the other didn't; they now cut their hair differently; one has body piercings where the other doesn't, etc. Having identical twins in the family is beyond strange.
