In case you haven't heard, the uncompromising Bea Arthur has finally been compromised by this mortal coil at age 86, leaving it behind for a seat in a brassy saloon somewhere in the sky. She had long been suffering from cancer. Neatorama has nice tribute of things you didn't know about her (including that she was once a marine), although if you ever watched "Golden Girls" or "Maude" you knew she had one of the sharpest deadpans ever to hit network TV. Bea Arthur was a classy broad with great acting, singing and many other talents. It was her deadpan humor that made her the actress that she will always be. She will always be a favorite of mine. Bea, I hope that heaven is a fun place that you are happy, singing and having an incredible time. Have a drink for all of your sadden fans.
