Someone recently recommended that I check out "Living Thing," the new album from Peter Bjorn and John. So I went to AOL Music's Full CD Listening Party to hear it for free, and it was great, but then OHMIGOD they also had Flo Rida's "R.O.O.T.S." I'd had "Right Round" on my iPod, but was wary, having been burned before by rap albums padded with meandering tracks (or, worse, skits). So I tried "R.O.O.T.S." (which stands for "route of overcoming the struggle," duh) and have not stopped listening since. Like any philosophical tract, it leaves you with more questions than answers: What did people play at parties before this came out? How did I ever run four miles without these nonstop guest-stars (Nelly Furtado, Ne-Yo, Wyclef [another guilty pleasure of mine], etc.) and booty songs? Could I be any whiter?
Grade: A+ (The PB&J album gets a B-.)
