It's not your average beauty pageant. The judges are looking for bowed legs, bloodshot eyes and massive quantities of drool. It may sound like the kind of contest we could win on a Monday morning, but it's the annual Bulldog Beauty Contest!

At this year's Des Moines, Iowa, event, Porterhouse, a brown-and-white local favorite owned by Erin and Kevin Bell, finally managed to snag the coveted crown after coming in second two years in a row. Other dog owners went the traditional pageant-parent route, dressing their dogs in blonde wigs and tulle, but Porterhouse managed to win the prize with a rather masculine military ensemble.

The Drake University Bulldogs hosted the competition to promote a yearly track and field competition. A beauty competition where the competitors lick their own butts? Finally -- a pageant that promotes real beauty.
