Just to remind you of how bad it can be, we've gathered some of the worst dress messes around. Got one you'd like to share with us? Send it in!
Bridesmaid Dress Messes
Look, they beat up four goth girls on their way to Homecoming.

Patriotism is a pretty...unusual wedding theme. Not sure how the racing flag comes into play.

When they gave those bridesmaids the pouches to dangle from their arms, they didn't realize they would be used primarily as a hiding place for whiskey.

It's weird that the "waist necktie" never became more popular.

This is like that scene in "Gone With The Wind" when she makes that dress out of curtains, only these are made of mauve polyester and there are six of them!

Vampires or superheroes -- what theme were they going for?

Okay. Truthfully it's hard to complain about a dachshund in pearls.

Prim, proper and oh-so purple.

Gah! The giant spider on her head has been pooping crystals on her dress!

It's very important that everyone knows your bridesmaid also has a black belt in Karate.

I agree, Wendy! I didn't get what was so terrible about many of the wedding dresses. In fact, the one from mary's bridal (the one w/ the caption that said something about disney princesses) has been my dream wedding dress for over 2 years! When I get married, I WILL be wearing that beautiful dress, I swear it lol! :) I've saved up a fair amount of money tutoring and working at school, and I will be keeping about $700 in savings till I get married just to buy that dress someday. Now the prom dresses... that another story lol. Lets just fashion sense in the 80s was quite lacking!

I liked the maroon prom dress that you made a stupid comment about showing enough skin to keep the guys wondering. I admire the young lady in the picture for not wanting to come dressed like a slut. We need more young ladies like her. The majority of prom dresses, I have three questions, where are their parents? Why didn't the school send them home to put some decent clothes on AND why wasn't child protective services called. Just because they are 17 does not mean that they are ready to make clothing decisions and I can prove it to you, Just drive by a high school or go to some place where teens hang out. They are incompetent in making clothing decisions.Your criticism concerning the wedding dresses, I don't see what your seeing. I admit, I do not like the women baring their chests, shoulders and arms, but the WORST wedding dress (in my opinion) is #10. She looks like a mermaid jumping out of the ocean! I am not saying this to be malicious, it's just true she looks like a mermaid that should be thrown back into the ocean. The wedding dresses that covered the ladies, I liked. Why do you think I would only attend a wedding so I can see the brides breasts? Come on ladies, yes you make stupid clothing decisions when your teenagers but, also when your in your twenties and thirties? There is something wrong with you when you want to bare yourself to an audience when you should only be baring yourself to your husband and doctor. I am also noticing this in church. Parents, if you have a daughter in the choir or orchestra, please make certain she has a dress or skirt that is half calf length when sitting. Before you go to church, take a chair and sit in that chair in front of a mirror. If you can see what is between your legs, I guarentee 100% that the congregation will see it also. Adult ladies, this applies to you too. I am not trying to be nasty. When I go to church, I go to give attention to God and not to give attention to what is between your legs and your daughters legs !

I wonder if you go to church to pray and pray only, how come you know that people are showing their legs? Maybe because you are paying more attention to people around than you are to God and the scriptures!
My advise , go live with the Amish, they don't show their legs, you prim!

#10 is actually a prom dress, which should be judged differently than a wedding dress. I agree, wedding dresses that aren't white can be very tacky-however, prom dresses are meant to be fun and vibrant. How do I know? Because that's me at my senior prom 2 years ago-they got the picture off of my friend's flickr.
p.s. I love that dress and would totally wear it again.
p.p.s. I love mermaids.

What I can't stand is the strapless messes that everyone has been wearing the last few years...there is no variety...just the same old mess with slightly different skirting and stitching. Oh, I forgot...I have to give my daughter-in-law credit for one thing...she found the uglist skirting I've ever seen...it looked like a german shepherd dragged it under the bed, dug around on it so there were snags and pulls all over then dragged it out and ggave it to her as a wedding gift. The poor bridesmaids were really bad...their dresses looked like brown, ill fitted slips. I think she wanted to make sure they looked horrible. If I was one of them I'd have told her NO WAY!

Linda, You're either talking about your ex-daughter-in-law, or your soon to be upset one. Hope she doesn't read these. Everyone wants to look beautiful on their wedding day. I hope she did. As a mom of three sons, I'd have loved to have some input on the dresses, but nobody asked me my opinion.

I'm sure the opinion of her mother-in-law (who proudly labels herself as "doublewide queen" in her profile) really means a lot to her..... *eyeroll*

The people judge fashions as good and bad according to whom? For example, the TV Show "How to Dress" has some very stupid hosts. The girl is a gangbanger type and the guy is a girly type. They have worst tastes than the women they try to help.

I agree Oyster! It's amazing how people can sit back and judge others. If we were to give them a little advice on how to dress (especially the effeminate guy), I wonder how they'd take it. LOLOLOL!

Wedding Dress #5 was stunning as were a few of the other wedding dresses. I wonder if some of these writer are jealous of the wedding gowns. I didn't like some of the gowns personally, but none were in bad taste or ludicrous. I wonder if Ms Tan is always a bridesmaid and never a bride......?

Typical Christian, Bible Thumping Hypocrit Aw is. Do you honestly get off by talking about how others should dress. Do you still live in the thirties and forties or are you from some Raghead country where women are not allowed to show even their faces. GET A LIFE LADY and start worrying about yourself instead of everyone else. You are a dried up old prude. And stop with the Church thing already. No one wants to know about your church adventures and how you like to look at women's and young girls coochies. Do you honestly stare enough between other women's and their daughter's legs enough to grab a quick peak of their privates? AT CHURCH! Like I said. Typical Christian Hypocrit! Just keep telling everyone else what to do and what to wear just to make yourself feel better about your own insecurities.

Everyone is a hypocrite at some time in their lives - means "role playing." Or are you saying you ALWAYS tell the truth and NEVER put on a face?
A Christian;s ONLY rule in clothing is to dress humbly - PERIOD. Christians do not cover their faces up. Maybe you should get a life and quit badgering others - it is mean. Unfortunately there are a lot of "Christians" in name ONLY who give REAL Christians a horrible name. No matter. Just try to be a little nicer.

I have only been a bridesmaid twice and wore #2 and #3. LOL! At that time, they were not considered ugly and were the style.
