It makes us so happy to hear positive stories about women in the Middle East, (especially amid news today that the Afghan parliament passed a new bill that strips Shia women of basic rights). But in Iraq, 20-something ladies are finding empowerment in the great American pastime that's still in its infancy there: baseball.

One young player, Sabreen Kifah, enthused, "It's such a beautiful game ... It's really helping to develop female sports here." That's freakin' awesome.
