Remember the glory days of mix tapes? It took longer to make than a CD (or a playlist), there was actual physical labor involved, and ... well, we've all seen "High Fidelity" by now.

8tracks is a Web site that allows users to create a mix of about half an hour of music, roughly eight tracks' worth of tunes, and share it with the entire world. You can browse by genre or pick a "tape" at random.

Like all good mix tapes, you'll discover music you've never heard before.

Plus, there is some great cover art accompanying some of the mixes so you can peruse that while imagining it's 1996 all over again.
