Sadly, women using illegal (and potentially unsafe) methods to abort their unborn babies is nothing new. But according to the American Life League, an increasing number of rural teens are ingesting medicine intended for livestock to end their pregnancies.

The allegations have since been used by both right-to-lifers sickened that girls would "drink poison" rather than "bear their child in love" and pro-choicers pointing out the consequences of a lack of access to legal, medical abortion.

But considering the whole article (and the American Animal Hospital Association warning, which seems to have been removed from the site) is based on what seems to be rumor among teens and conjecture from the lips of Right to Life advocates, we're questioning whether this whole DIY abortion "scare" is really happening at all.

However you feel about abortion, we think both pro-life and pro-choice organizations should probably leave the news reporting to the at-least-sort-of-objective professionals.
