Think your guy is geeky? A Finnish computer programmer decided to go all Johnny Mnemonic on everyone by turning his finger into a hard drive. Jerry Jalava lost his finger in a motorcycle accident last summer and doctors were unable to save the finger, so they were forced to amputate. When the surgeons learned of his profession they made a joke about turning his finger into a hard drive.
They didn't take into account the fact that being a computer programmer gave Jalava just the degree of required nerdiness to actually follow through on a joke like that.
Now Jalava can remove and peel back the tip of his fake finger and plug it into a computer like a traditional thumb, er, ring finger, er, flash drive. Jalava's next plan is to give his replacement digit wireless capabilities, so he'll never be without the Internet. The convenience almost makes up for the loss of a finger!
