Beta Males
Ben Stone (Seth Rogen), "Knocked Up." A beautiful woman with an unbelievable job agrees to unprotected sex with an out-of-work Canadian stoner, under the cinematic pretext of "beer goggles." Please let us know what she was drinking so we can buy stock.
Universal
Lloyd Dobler (John Cusack), "Say Anything." Oh, Lloyd Dobler. Now that we know that kickboxing was not, indeed, the sport of the future, following gorgeous, smart Diane Court to college in England without a job or prospects of his own just seems kinda pathetic.
Everett Collection
Andy Stitzer (Steve Carell), "The Forty Year Old Virgin." Steve Carell's hairy manchild had neither a driver's license nor a lick of sexual experience, but landed small business owner and hot single mom Catherine Keener. You know, cause he was so nice.
Universal
Chuck (Adam Sandler), "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry." A homophobic firefighter so broke that he agrees to marry his male coworker for domestic partner benefits lies to Jessica Biel about his sexual history. She falls madly in love with him. Who wouldn't?!
Universal
Troy (Ethan Hawke), "Reality Bites." Unemployed musician makes romantic pronouncements about smoking Camel Wides and bitches at Winona Ryder even as he crashes on her couch and hits her up for free pizza. The love story of our time.
ZUMA Press
Seth (Jonah Hill), "Superbad." Aside from a rather impressive collection of obscene drawings, this paunchy, raunchy dork seems to have little to offer the cute, funny girl he gets.
Sony
John Beckwith (Owen Wilson), "Wedding Crashers." A gorgeous, altruistic senator's daughter falls for a "professional mediator" (who inexplicably never goes to work) who spends his spare time lying his way into parties and bridesmaids' underpants. Obvs.
Everett Collection
Ben Wrightman (Jimmy Fallon), "Fever Pitch." Boston baseball superfan and crap boyfriend constantly ditches his beautiful, successful girlfriend because the Red Sox "need" him. How adorable!
20th Century Fox
Dante (Brian O'Halloran), "Clerks" & "Clerks II." A chubby dude with a creepstache and a series of crap jobs that he loves to whine about. Catnip to women like Rosario Dawson.
Weinstein Co.
Michael (Zach Braff), "The Last Kiss." A mopey man-boy cheats on his lovely, pregnant girlfriend with a college student, and she takes him back. In the movies, he's "conflicted." In real life, we call that "sleazebaggy."

She's not your ex if you just went out with her twice, she's a girl who went out on a few dates with you.
The real question is, does Dave have real feelings for this girl? Could it be a relationship or does he just want to "get in there?" If it's the former, I say go for it. If it's the latter, then it's not worth hurting a friend. There are plenty of other girls to date.

I agree. Dating isn't like a dog marking his territory. You can't pee on something and claim it as yours. You should be a good and understanding friend and support him in his dating endeavors, especially since it is someone who is out of your life now (at least romantically, if it can even be called that).

Ethan: Stop being such a giant puss.
Normally I would say that you never ever date someone your friend has dated... HOWEVER, Ethan never really dated this chick in my opinion. Man it up Ethan.

I'm also curious as to why, with all the women on the planet Dave needs to date some chick his friend went on a few dates with. Why casually date someone your friend dated? I mean, if he thinks "this could be the one" is one thing, but if it's casual, there's no reason to date someone your friend dated or has feelings for, as ridiculous as those feelings may be.

How adventurous are the two of you? I would say that if you are game you should ask the girl if she would date you both. That gives her the opportunity to pick. Plus it makes the prize all the better for the winner.
I did the online dating game for a while. It was fun when two guys were interested in me at the same time. The more the merrier.

Hey unAverage,
I think that they tried that in the Spin Doctors' song "Two Princes." And we all know what happened to the Spin Doctors.
Furthermore, 2 dates does not a relationship make: what would Flight Of The Conchords do?

Any girl that wouldn't take the chance to keep dating Ethan is obviously terrible at life. Now Dave, ask yourself "do i want a girl who has no ability to think rationally?" I heart Ethan. period, question mark, exclamation point.

If the first guy has feelings for the girl the second guy should stay away. Go turn that charm on to some other girl. Leave this one alone.

It is NEVER okay to date an ex. The person may tell you it's okay but there will always be resentment. Go find someone else to date. Leave it to a man to have to ask this question. Women know that there are boundaries that you don't cross. Now they may not care and cross them anyway but that means you don't value the friendship very much.

I think that if it were a few dates no kissing etc. and everyone involved was not bothered yes BUT dating an ex is a NO !NO! Out of all the people out there why even have to date a friends ex? Its like something you don't do ..you cant cross the line and expect to stay friends. Like I said if it was just a couple dates and nothing took place other than dating and your ALL okay with it fine but Make SURE it won't bother anyone ...but me I wouldn't do it.

Ok Dave, normally i would side with Ethan with the fact that you should respect your friends wishes in regards to dating or potentially dating a girl your friend has already been with.
BUT..... Ethan.... 2 or 3 dates does not really count as dating (in my opinion). Your courtship unfortunately lasted essentially, only a weekend.

i would say if it really bothers ethan and you care about his feelings move on. she's not the last girl on the face of the planet. Just think is she really worth hurting your friend. and it doesn't matter what base they got to or how many dates they went on. the point is he liked her.so u can not have her.
