Now that the Snuggie has received both New York Times coverage (twice!) and its own bar crawl, it's time to move on to the Couch Dress.

This hand-crafted, sleeveless knit dress has an afghan-patterned skirt so you can disappear into your couch. Chances are your mom or aunt probably has an afghan of similar colors and pattern packed away somewhere in her den, just in case you need a little extra coverage.

The dress is from Pantalaine, creator of such wardrobe staples as the super sweats, the extended-stripe joint polo and our personal favorite, the hug jacket. In case you haven't noticed, they specialize in "plural clothing" (that is, singular pieces of clothing for more than one person).

So what's the deal here? Find out after the jump.

So judging from this site, which is some mystery man's personal blog, Pantalaine has been around since 2004. That's six years after the Slanket, the original sleeved blanket, was first introduced. (Confused about your sleeved blankets? Here's a great article from the "Chicago Sun-Times" that breaks it down.)

Also, in case you haven't noticed, it's all a joke.

But that's too bad, because we were hoping for a pair of Unisex Snap Trainers to work on our three-legged-race technique.
