An Indiana woman who holds the Guinness World Record for most marriages says she'd consider going for husband number 24. (In case you're wondering, there is also a record for most renewal vows -- 83!)
Born Linda Lou Taylor and now known as Linda Wolfe (see her picture here), she has been married to a convict, a preacher, a musician, a homeless man, several men who beat her, and even two gay men. Her former suitors won't deter her from going down the aisle again.
"I would get married again," she told the Gannett News Service, "because, you know, it gets lonely."

Altar Girl
Now 68, Wolfe has been widowed for more than a decade. She first wed at age 16, marrying 31-year-old George Scott. According to United States Department of Health and Human Services, about half of the women who tie the knot when they're under 18 will divorce within 10 years. Scott and Wolfe were no exception, as their union lasted seven years.
Record-Breaking Ex
We were curious about the man who holds the record for most marriages, so we looked him up. Turns out that Glynn "Scotty" Wolfe, a Baptist minister who had 29 marriages (most of which ended in divorce), was Linda's most recent husband.
Though they may not be the oddest couple we've seen, the two did get married in 1996 as part of a publicity stunt for a British TV show.
The couple only spent a week together before she returned to her home in Anderson, Indiana, and he died the next year. Though Linda didn't have the money to attend his funeral in California, she continues to use his last name (she's used plenty of other surnames over the years). "As soon as I saw him, I knew I cared for him," she reportedly said.
And here we thought Elizabeth Taylor held the record for the most husbands (she had eight).
Tell us! Would you consider marrying again after everything that Linda has been through? Or would you rather just stay single?

How come gays are not allowed to marry, but someone like her can make
an absolute mockery of marriage. That's a double standard if I ever heard one!

God has nothing to do with marriage unless you're being wed in the church. If you're not being wed in the church, then it's a legal contract between two people and since when did entering into a legal contract with someone apply to only straight people?

Ya gotta say the comment against gay marriage is amazing. The iggnorance in this country is astounding. You completely ignore the idea that this lady got married 26 times. You start your comment with ripping on gay marriage. Priceless, priceless. As a straight male, this is disturbing beyond belief. Do yourself and the rest of us a favor and move out of the country. Just move out.

Love does not "last forever" without both individuals being completely commited to making it work.

If I were her I would be worried about STD's. That is a lot of men. I can't believe that there is something wrong with every man she has had. But I think I would find something else to full fill my loneliness. Like find a hobby that is healthier.

I'm surprised the record is so low. I would have figured some people out there would have married 100s of times. I think the concept of one marriage per lifetime is way out-dated and obsolete. I'd encourage people to marry several times per year. I am actually quite proud of this woman. This way, we can ensure variety in our lives, no getting bored with a spouse, multiple sex-partners, and don't have to feel guilty about it, since you are husband and wife, etc... More chances to get it right and maybe even meet one of your dozens of spouses, who would actually be worth spending the rest of your life with.
