At least do the research before posting the pics, this tiger lost all of her cubs and went into a severe depression, wouldn't eat, and her health was deteriorating quickly. So, the zookeepers dressed up some piglets like tiger cubs and let her raise them as her own babies. Last I heard she was doing great and beat the depression and was much much healthier. This picture is much cuter if you know that story along with it....

Alex, where I am from "research" does not mean regurgitating a made up story you read in a spam email. As snopes notes, the tigers and pigs were put together for the entertainment of visitors, not anything to do with the tiger's psychological well-being. And the article goes on to mention the even darker underside to the zoo's treatment of tigers.

I was wondering what kind of people would make these kind of stories up in the first place, and then I saw this--- "Last I heard she was doing great and beat the depression and was much much healthier."

Alex...thanks for posting that. It does make it much sweeter to know the story behind it, even if it is a little sad. Otherwise, those pictures are freakin CUTE!

Alex, calm down. Just enjoying pictures in passing for light entertainment doesn't require research or random people condescending toward others over petty things on the internet.

We rescued 2 kittens, one was only about 2-3 weeks old (her mother had been killed, another feral mother cat let her nurse but the older kittens were getting all the food). I think she missed out on some important contact w/ her mother because I catch her 'making bread' & chewing or otherwise snuggling w/ our huge Golden Retriever. Dutch lets her snuggle all she wants and Ruby seems much happier aft their little spooning sessions. Very sweet.

Alex, where I am from research does not mean regurgitating whatever made up story you read in a spam email. Look this up on snopes' "Tiger and piglets" This was done to entertain visitors, and had nothing to do with the tiger's psychological well-being. And the article goes on to detail a much darker side to this Thai zoo's treatment of tigers...

We rescue dogs and actually had one of our Doberman mixed breed dogs "nanny" a kitten we took in. We currently have 5 dogs and James (the cat) just thinks he's one of the pack now. . .and they let him.
