Elephants like using the buddy system, and most of the time they buddy up with fellow pachyderms. But not Tarra. Tarra, who lives at the Elephant Sanctuary of Tennessee, bonded with a puppy counterpart, Bella, and for the past several years the pair have been inseparable. How real is their bond? When Bella suffered a spinal injury and had to be cared for by sanctuary staff, Tarra sat vigil outside Bella's recovery room for weeks. More proof that this dog/elephant love is true: Bella lets Tarra rub her belly with her big elephant foot!
