To some, Christmas is all about gorgeous holiday greenery, generosity and spending time with family. But for us, it's all about the delectable sweet treats available at every turn. Two of our faves are gingerbread cookies and sugar cookies topped with as much icing and sprinkles as possible. Au Bon Pain (those pesky French cafes conveniently located about thirty seconds from everyone's office) offered up both holiday cookies this year, and we found out which is best.

Christmas Tree Sugar Cookies

.
Appearance: A little brown man outlined in icing and decorated with raisins. In other words, it looks like a gingerbread man.
Appearance: A tree-shaped sugar cookie covered with stiff, bright-colored icing and lots of green and red sprinkles. Our mouths may have actually watered a little at the sight.

Taste: Sweet, with a slight bite of ginger. The icing is perfectly thick and creamy and the raisins taste a little weird. Gingerbread just isn't our cup of tea, even if it comes from one of our favorite bakeries.
Taste: Once you get past the tooth-breaking hardness, the taste is amazing, all sugar and butter and any other bad-for-you treat. We absolutely love that it's completely covered in icing. Mmm, mmm, good.

Our pick: Holiday Christmas Trees. Besides the fact that we have a real problem eating something shaped like a man, the gingerbread was a little too bitter to be considered a "treat." The trees on the other hand were devilishly sweet and fun to eat, once you got over the initial hard exterior.
