Not only are pixies supposedly magical, but now pixie haircuts allegedly have a magical ability to shrink men's libidos in the blink of an eye! Some "experts" say it doesn't matter how totally smoking hot you are -- men prefer women with long hair. So if your personality isn't all that great, and underneath that gorgeous mane you've got total Shrek-face, you might want to think twice before copying the 'do that Victoria Beckham, Winona Ryder and Rihanna have been sporting.
According to Manhattan dating guru Matt Titus (author of the charmingly titled "Why Hasn't He Called?"), cutting off your luxurious tresses is "like sending a nonverbal message that you're not interested in sex." That opinion was seconded by British sex therapist and TV personality Anjula Mutanda, who told the Daily Mail, "Long hair is still shorthand for sexual attractiveness."

Apparently, long hair is indicative of fertility, and men are "primevally" attracted to it, along with a curvy body and big, luscious lips. You know, like Angelina Jolie. Or noted drag queen RuPaul.
Some theorize that super-short hair on women is a reflection of the faltering economy. If that's the case, the U.S. is due for a short-hair craze. (Hot tip: Sell your stock in hair extensions, and invest in pomade futures.) Chopping your locks is also a time-honored post-breakup tradition.
Personally, we love the pixie. If you've got the face for it (little features and big eyes, a la Michelle Williams, Natalie Portman and other stars who've rocked this look), and guts to boot, you might as well give it a go. And if it's a total bust, remember those words of comfort your mom offered after that awful $19 Supercuts 'do you got as a child -- "It's only hair. It'll grow back."

I have has a short pixie cut for years now and I have no trouble at all getting my husband to notice me. Of all the positive things people notice about me, my hair isn't the tope of the list. I learned that when no one noticed it was getting shorter. I think it's all on how you carry what's under the hair and your hair gets more noticable when the important parts (like a personality) aren't there.

people get paid to write crap like this ? Go rent "6 Days - 7 Nights" with Harrison Ford. The writer got it right when he and Anne Heche are discussing what it take to turn a man on. Ford said it takes one thing to turn a man on - "she has to show up". Sure - women CAN do things with how they look that MIGHT run a man off - but if she's there for him - he's turned on.
And what genius decided that picking two pictures of Angelina Jolie was a good way to say that men wouldn't be attracted to however she showed up. Angelina Jolie could show up with her head shaved wearing a burlap sack and she would be gorgeous.
Fire the idiots who came up with this drivel. Ladies - we like your hair however you do it...99.9999% of the time.

That is ridiculous! My wife has short hair and personally I find short cropped hair incredibly attractive. I get turned on far faster by a pixie haircut then by long hair.

I've had very short hair for years (longer in the front and angled). I've never had a shortage of guy's interest. Some guys thought it was sexy. Now I'm married. No problem w/short hair. Just make sure it flatters you. The're are so many different types of cuts. Hair dressers have good advice on that.

Interesting...My boyfriend couldn't stop touching my hair and kissing me when I got my pixie again. I had a pixie cut in high school and decided to grow it out for college. (We've been dating since Senior year of high school) By the end of my sophomore year of college it was close to my shoulder blades. Had to wear it in braids most of the time because its so thick and I looked like Diana Ross if I didn't have it braided (extremely thick and curly- and chemical relaxers only worked when it was relatively short). I woke up one morning tired of having one style and looking like some self professed diva when my hair was in its natural state and decided to get a pixie again. He picked me up from the metro a few days later completely ecstatic. (Mind you he was always one for long hair and red heads (he's Irish, I'm black Jamaican)) Said he finally got his girl back. In essence, its all about preference and what hair style enhances your natural beauty.

Short hair on girls is hot, just ask the French, they invented that boyish cut, e.g. Jean Seberg, the American actress adored by the French for her short , little boy haircut.

I think most men would focus more on your chest and your face then your hair

I had breast cancer and lost all my dark, thick, beautiful, bobbed hair...now it's growing out but is still very short and looks sort of edgy with blond highlights. My husband loves it.
I like men with long hair, short hair, any kind of hair...if ya look good it doesn't matter what the lengyh your hair is. Plus, who decides this stupid crap?

That picture of Angelina Jolie with short hair was just a bad picture period. Had nothing to do with the haircut. She is a beautiful woman with short hair or long hair.
