Did you hear the one about the new president who bought his wife a ring made out of the world's most expensive metal? Supposedly, President-Elect Obama planned to give his wife Michelle a ring as a thanks-for-the-support gift. The stories floating around the interwebs claim the band is made from "rhodium," allegedly the world's most precious metal, the base for super-pricey items like "the world's most expensive pen" and "the world's most expensive board game" (Rhodium Battleship?).
Surprise! The "Michelle Obama ring" is probably a hoax. Which is good for Michelle, because the ring that she was supposedly getting is uuuh-gly.
