If you're like 90% of the people we know, you spent the latter half of the weekend with Beyoncé's "Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)" stuck in your head.It doesn't help that the only words we can make out are "single ladies" and the implication that if their boyfriends really liked them, they woulda/shoulda proposed by now. Pretty big words from someone who didn't get a ring put on it till, like, six months ago. How quickly things change, Beyoncé, how quickly.
Pretty straightforward advice. And probably pretty easy to give -- if you already have a ring. As for the rest of us, we'd like to join in telling Beyoncé, our moms, our smug married friends, and all those "find love in 30 days" relationship experts: WE'RE WORKING ON IT.

We'll i'm not mad that she is married but to assume that her song "put a ring on her" or whateva the lyrics imply that she has gotten what she wanted right off the back...Let me remind Beyonce she was with Jay-Z for five years and thru gossip or whateva they broke up a few times. And that last year when she became engaged is when they became husband/wife. The song just to me implies that like her get a ring on your finger if you with a man. That's great but not all relationship even the ones where you love the person is one to lead to marriae. But to Beyoonce....Myself and other like me who are married for 10+ yrs are the example not YOU.... And I got my ring after 6mos (11yrs happily giggly married) Because I don't have 5 yrs to WAIT for a man to DECIDE he want me to be his wife (because shacking up is a no-no)

Wow!! How quick are other women to hate on anothers' marriage, because if you would just listen to the lyrics of the song you would see that it is really a message for the guys and even alludes to the reason behind the marriage of her and Jay-Z but dince you didn't here they are for your enjoyment
All the single ladies (x's 7)
Now put your hands up
Up in the club, we just broke up
I'm doing my own little thang
You decided to dip, and now you wanna trip
Cause another brother noticed me
I'm up on him, he up on me
Don't pay him any attention
Just cryin' my tears for 3 good years
You can't be mad at me
Cause if you like it
Then you shoulda put a ring on it
If you like it then
You shoulda put a ring on it
Don't be mad once you see that he want it
Cause if you like it
Then you shoulda put a ring on it
Whoa-oa-oa!
Oh oh oh oh oh-oh
Oh oh oh
Whoa-oa-oa!
Oh oh oh oh oh-oh
Oh oh oh
If you like it
Then you shoulda put a ring on it
If you like it then
You shoulda put a ring on it
Don't be mad once you see that he want it
If you like it
Then you shoulda put a ring on it
I got gloss on my lips
A man on my hips
Hold me tighter than my Derion jeans
Actin up, drink in my cup
I can care less what you think
I need no permission, did I mention
Don't pay him any attention
Cause you had your turn
And now you gonna learn
What it really feels like to miss Bey
Cause if you like it
Then you shoulda put a ring on it
If you like it then
You shoulda put a ring on it
Don't be mad once you see that he want it
Cause if you like it
Then you shoulda put a ring on it
Whoa-oa-oa!
Oh oh oh oh oh-oh
Oh oh oh
Whoa-oa-oa!
Oh oh oh oh oh-oh
Oh oh oh
If you like it
Then you shoulda put a ring on it
If you like it then
You shoulda put a ring on it
Don't be mad once you see that he want it
If you like it
Then you shoulda put a ring on it
Whoa-oa-oa!
Oh oh oh oh oh-oh
Oh oh oh
Whoa-oa-oa!
Oh oh oh oh oh-oh
Oh oh oh
Don't treat me to these things of the world
I'm not that kind of girl
Your love is what I preffer, what I deserve
Here's a man that makes me then takes me
And delivers me to a destiny
To infinity and beyond
Pull me into your arms
Say I'm the one you want
If you don't you'll be alone
And like a ghost I'll be gone
All the single ladies (x's 7)
Now put your hands up
Whoa-oa-oa!
Oh oh oh oh oh-oh
Oh oh -err
Whoa-oa-oa!
Oh oh oh oh oh-oh
Oh oh oh
Whoa-oa-oa!
Cause you like it
Then you shoulda put a ring on it
If you like it then
You shoulda put a ring on it
Don't be mad once you see that he want it
If you like it
Then you shoulda put a ring on it
Whoa-oa-oa!
If you like it
Then you shoulda put a ring on it
If you like it then
You shoulda put a ring on it
Don't be mad once you see that he want it
If you like it
Then you shoulda put a ring on it
WHoa-oa-oa!

Honestly I can care less about the specifics of that Whitehall Jewelry jingle, It has no substance. (unlike the early part of her career). My point was that her little jingle have woman thinking that their realationship as it is at this moment isn't enough. Not all men/women are marriage material no matter what you do or how you flaunt it.
Of course if a man leaves you it was a reason and GREAT HE LEFT cuz the marriage wouldn't have work anyway....Understand that she don't set the example for relationships and that's a fact...Relationships have many definition and "PUTTIN A RING ON IT" isn't going to make the relationship (woman/man) more worthy. THAT'S MY POINT AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE IT....And for the people who are marriage material don't have to wait 5 yrs to figure it out. (and please don't give me their Entertainters etc...B***S**T). So for all the men/women who have no good men in their life have no business marrying them anyway and they know it...and for the ones who loves their mate and have a GREAT mate don't let this D*MN SONG F**K with your head.
But it was nice of you to waste your time typing the lyrics that I didn't read. I read educational novels, and poetry etc... not garbage HEH! HEH!

I think that is the cutest, sassiest song, and that girl can dance! I'm so proud of her success--she has worked toward all she has since she was a small girl. And she is right--these guys, using us women, not wanting to make a committtment,--don't be crying when we walk out the door!

To Monall:
Wow you're bitter, its no wonder that you aren't married yet. But since you didn't get what I was saying the first time I'll just spell it out for you. The song is saying that if he truly wanted her then he would have given her a reason to stay in the relationship and would have tried like she did to make it work. However since he didn't think she was worth it, he shouldn't be mad now that she has moved on and is looking for someone new. Also for someone who never reads anything that she precieves as garbage, you not only took the time to read an article about a song you supposedly hate but also wrote and replied to comments about it. Anyways the fact of the matter is its just a song if you don't like it don't listen to it. Another thing I don't feel bad about posting the lyrics becuase computers come with this neat thing called copy and paste.

Oh, Tierra your soooo funny it just tickle me...I was the first to comment on the article because I was vexed about the song when I first heard it so when the story came about I took the chance to speak on it... Let me tell you, since you didn't get it the first time if a man/woman don't think your worth it the first time "why bother", you have no business marrying them in the first place. People always want something after it looks better on someone else shoulder. (but that don't make it worthy of an marriage or should a say "Put a ring on it"). I said the "lyrics are garbage" not the "article".
And just to inform you i'm married 11 yrs (giggly happy). I'm a VERY happy person i have no time for bitterness. I just like to caution people of this false since of "paid inspiration" that these entertainters put out....If you can't respect that I feel for you. And by the way If Beyonce would have re-worked her lyrics and added your passion (to make me understand) it would have been a "Poetic Song", but she didn't. The purpose of that song is for commercial reasons it's a "Whitehall Jewelry JIngle" (watch out for the commerical premiere, It's doesn't express what i thk she meant to convey....But she will make money off it and i guess for her that's what matters.
But what do I know i'm just an unmarried, bitter, and anti-feminist who hate Beyonce. Excusing the fact that I have bought all her CDs except the last one (not sure about this one, probably not)....Went to her last tour with Destiny Child/and her solo tour. I'm sorry that I don't jump on the band wagon of Beyonc-dom just because....All her music isn't great actually the last bit have been Jingles.....Let me stop because I can go on/on and add some people to this ...Nice Typing with you TIERRA (sorry no common ground was meant)

I didn't mean to state that you were as you put it "an unmarried, bitter, and anti-feminist who hate Beyonce" in fact I didn't even read your first comment until after I made my second comment and must admit that I was a tad mad by your reply to my response to the article. And for that I apologise, however the song (one of my favorites by Beyonce) is meant for entertainment purposes only.Still I was offended by your implication that if after five years if your man hasn't porposed then you aren't marriage potential. Some relationships just take time to progress to level where both partners feel that they are ready to make a lifelong commitment to one another.I am sorry that we could not reach common ground also. Who knows maybe in the next lifetime we will.
