Science always seems to rob us of our carefree naivete and ruin the best things in life. iPods cause permanent hearing loss? Alcohol decreases brain volume?

Health studies and investigative reports take perverse pride in ruining pleasures both necessary and awesome, so, sadly, we're not surprised by two new studies about the dangers of our daily habits.

* Cell Phones Give You Bumps
A dermatologists' association recently announced that a wave of mystery rashes appearing on people's faces was caused by the ubiquitous cell phone. They say that the nickel plating on some phones causes "mobile phone dermatitis" to appear on the ear, neck and chin. Hmm ... itchy.

* Coffee Makes You Flat
Meanwhile, a Swedish oncologist announced results of a study suggesting that women who drink an ample amount of coffee often experience a reduction in their breast size. Dr. Helena Jernstrom tracked 270 women and noted significant breast shrinkage in about half of them. She chalks it up to a gene variation that causes some women's bra cups to deflate in inverse proportion to their coffee cups being filled.

Enough already! We get it, science -- no alcohol, music, cell phones, computers, friends, puppies, kissing or ice cream. When's the apocalypse again?
