The Great American Bridezilla has reached new levels of crazy. Yes, she still wants a $5000 wedding cake and an over-the-top designer gown, but the latest demand? Cosmetic enhancements for their bridesmaids.According to trend experts, a "bridal party makeover" no longer consists of just hair styles and nail polish, but plastic surgeons and bandages. Procedures such as Botox and collagen injections are on the rise, and brides are incorporating them as standard pre-wedding fare (one survey says the trend has gone up 25% in the last two years).
Says one sadistic bride-to-be, "It's just another thing for us to do together, like traveling or hanging out or going out for a bachelorette party." Exactly. They may be your crow's feet but it's her day.
But celebrity wedding planner Samantha Goldberg says a face full of botulism isn't the only outrageous request -- some call for chemical peels, nose jobs, and even breast enhancements. And with brides requiring their fiancés get Botox as well, grooms aren't safe from their wrath.
We can't imagine a more outrageous request, especially in this economy, and hope that at least you won't have to bring a wedding present once you've given the couple the greatest gift of all: a forehead you could bounce quarters off of.
