Nobody has benefits anymore, so we're offering up the one resource we all have: other people's mothers. Each week a staff mom (nurse, guidance counselor, lawyer and shrink) will answer one of your questions. This week, it's health Q&A with Laura's Mom the Nurse.I have all these pimples on the side of my forehead that I wear my bangs on. For a while I felt really lucky that I'd chosen to wear my bangs on the zitty side, but now I'm starting to think my bangs could be causing the zits. Is that possible? And how can I keep it from happening?
Laura's Mom says: "Yes, the bangs can be contributing to the issue. Hair filters bacteria. Product on hair can aggravate sensitive skin or plug pores. Try keeping hair off of your skin as much as possible, and minimize using products. If you use spray, cover your face with a towel before spraying. and walk several feet away before you remove the towel."
Laura's Mom the Nurse is a women's health nurse practitioner in Topeka, Kan.
